A long-time resident of Jordan, MN, Albert Pieper, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday morning, November 29, 2014, at the Belle Plaine Lutheran Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, December 4 at 10:30 am, with a time of gathering starting at 9 am, all at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 210 Broadway Street, Jordan, MN. Father Timothy Yanta will preside. Albert’s Pall bearers will be Ken Hoffman, Mike Pieper, Thomas Pieper, Dewey Brinkman, Larry Pieper and Rich Pieper. He will be laid to rest at St. John’s Calvary Cemetery, Jordan, MN. Full military honors will be provided by the Jordan Vets Honor Guard.

On May 6, 1924, on the family farm in Marystown, MN, Albert was born to parents, Tony and Theresa (Stemig) Pieper. He was the fourth of nine children. As a young boy, Albert spent most of his time outdoors, working on the family farm. He loved spending Sunday afternoons in the woods hunting. In later years, Albert enjoyed hunting and fishing up north with friends.

From January 1945 to November of 1946, Albert was drafted into the Unites States Army, mainly as a baker, but was also trained as a marksman during World War II. He was stationed in Guam and the Philippians.

In 1971, Albert lost his eye sight. But this never stopped him! Albert loved to socialize with people around town. A natural at woodworking, even being blind, he loved to make board games and also play cards.

Left to honor Albert’s life and mourn his death are brothers, Julian Pieper, Joseph Pieper, Clem Pieper, Elmer (Ethel) Pieper; sisters, Loretta Hoffman, Mary (Marv) Gregory; sisters-in-law, Helen Pieper, Phyllis Pieper; other loving relatives and devoted friends

Preceded in death and there to welcome Albert home is his parents; brothers, Roman Pieper, Leonard Pieper; sisters-in-law, Geraldine Pieper, Marcie Pieper, Sally Pieper; brother-in-law, Beatus Hoffman.
