Alvina “Vinny” M. Stark
On the evening of Friday, November 30, 2012, Alvina Marie Stark was 93 years young when she passed away peacefully at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee, MN. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 5 from 4-7 pm at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home 833 S. Marschall Road, Shakopee, and one hour prior to the Mass at church. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, December 6 at 11 am at the Church of St. Mark 350 Atwood Street in Shakopee. Interment will be at the Shakopee Catholic Cemetery.
Born on September 7, 1919 in Marystown, MN, Alvina was the daughter to Henry and Susan (Deutsch) Sand. She married Henry Stark on June 17, 1941 at the Church of St. Mark. They were blessed with four children, Robert, Mary Lou, Theresa and Don.
A true heart of gold and dedicated member of the community, Alvina spent countless hours volunteering throughout her life at St. Francis Hospital. An active steward of St. Mark Church, she volunteered with the Catholic Christian Woman’s group and Perpetual Adoration. Alvina also drove for Meals on Wheels and people who were shut ins.
Forever missed, Alvina is loved by children, Robert G. (Barb) Stark of Shakopee, Mary Lou Bryant of Bloomington, Theresa Mithin of Wells, Don (Theresa) Stark of Shakopee; grandchildren, Shelly (Mark) Notermann, Jeff (Laurie) Stark, Bob (Wendy) Stark, Barb (Tim) Jirik, Julie (Jeff) Howard, David (Theresa) Bryant, Wendy (Paul) Velarde, Pat (Caryn) Mithun, Kathy (Allen) Baumann, Kevin (Angie) Stark, Megan Stark; 28 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchildren; 4 step great-grandchildren; 2 step great-great grandchildren sister-in-law; Margaret Sand of Shakopee; many other relatives and friends.
Alvina is preceded in death by her husband, Henry; son-in-law, Wayne Mithun; grandson-in-law, William Schultze; brothers, Leo and Florentine Sand; sisters, Loretta (Al) Lenzmeier, Mathilda (Jerome) Lenzmeier.
Pall bearers for Alvina will be Jeff Stark, Bob Stark, David Bryant, Pat Mithun, Kevin Stark and Jeff Howard.
The Stark family is served with honor, care and compassion by Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home, Shakopee Chapel.
