On April 6, 1979 in Fergus Falls, MN parents Daniel and Kathy (Jacobson) Folsom celebrated the birth of their daughter, Alyson. She was the oldest of four children. Alyson lived up to the role of “Big Sister” wholeheartedly—she was a bit bossy yet lovingly protective of her siblings. Throughout her life, Alyson was closeknit with her family and enjoyed countless get togethers with cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Following her graduation from Richfield in 1997, Alyson was unstoppable. She continued her education at the Minnesota School of Business, worked as an accountant, and took on the role she most cherished in life, being a mother and blessed with two children Cooper and Morgen.

Alyson’s family continued to grow when she married Matt Lynch. Being a mom was her number one priority! No matter the circumstances, bad weather or cancer treatments, Aly could be found cheering at every sports events. Charismatic and active, Alyson took every opportunity to support her children, their friends, and anyone who needed encouragement.

When she wasn’t working or running after the kids, Alyson enjoyed traveling with Matt getting to see some amazing places and meeting new friends. Road trips with the kids in a minivan, while stressful at times, was some of her favorite memories. She loved attending concerts as Alyson had an eclectic taste in music, listening to anything that caught her attention. When she didn’t have kids games or anything scheduled you could find her hanging out with her sisters and nieces and nephews at one of their houses.

Aly loved to LIVE. She seized any opportunity to be out in nature whether it was time on the water, picking apples at the orchard or relaxing next to an autumn bonfire. It wasn’t the activity that she loved the most, but rather, the people she was surrounded by. She found her joy in relationships and there was no shortage of them to say the least.

Even in death, Alyson’s kindness continues through her gift of eye donation and the love she has instilled with others. Her acts of generosity, her encouraging smile, and empathy remain with those she loved.

Alyson is deeply missed by her husband, Matt Lynch and children, Cooper Swanson, Morgen Swanson, Kerragyn Lynch, Giavanna Lynch, Vanessa Lynch; mother, Kathy (Scott) Greer; siblings, Amber (Sean) Kopka, Tricia Ramotar, and Matt Folsom; nieces and nephews, Kali, Kendal, and Casey Kopka, Eli and Mya Ramotar, Braden and Evan Lynch; grandmothers, Arlene Folsom and Lillian Punk; brothers-in-law, Andrew (Elie) Lynch, Aaron Lynch; parents-in-law, Terry and Cindy Lynch

Aly is greeted in Heaven by her father, Dan Folsom; cousin, Sara Kirkpatrick; grandfathers, Kenneth Jacobson and Gerald Folsom.
