Arthur August Schumann, age 80 of Prior Lake, passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2018. A funeral service will be Friday, June 22, 2018 at 11AM with a visitation from 9:30-11AM all at Immanuel Lutheran on Fish Lake, 20200 Fairlawn Ave., Prior Lake. Arthur will be laid to rest at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Arthur’s grandchildren will act as pallbearers.
Arthur was born in Spring Lake Township on January 17, 1938 to parents August Schumann and Lydia Kahle. Throughout life, Arthur was a hard worker. While he was primarily a farmer, Arthur also worked at Cargill for almost 20 years and Country Market in Prior Lake.
When he wasn’t working, Arthur enjoyed spending time with his family, collecting stamps and coins, and watching wrestling. A devout man, Arthur was a member of Lutherans Aid for over 50 years.
Arthur is loved and missed by his wife, Dianne; children, Gerald (Sue) Schumann, Nancy (Richard) Krossin, Beverly (Ian) Owen, JoAnn (Joel) Erickson; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and one soon to come; brother, Marvin (Hazel) Schumann; sister, Delores Schumann; many relatives and friends.
Arthur is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Edger Schumann, Elain (George) Smith, Hilma (Joe) Varhol; nieces, Sharon, Kim Ann; nephew, Robert.
