Barbara Ann Olson

Barbara A. Olson, age 75 of Hackensack, MN passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on March 3, 2025 at M Health Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, MN with her loving husband, David Olson, by her side. 

Barbara worked as a licensed hair stylist for several years prior to working at Mystic Lake Casino from 1992 until 2018, when she retired. She also worked part time at the VFW in Prior Lake when they needed help. She grew up in the Rochester, MN area and later moved to Prior Lake, MN. She moved to Hackensack, MN on Child Lake permanently in 2021 with her husband, David Olson, after he retired From Delta Airlines. 

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Harris and Evelyn Boland. Barbara is survived by her husband, David Olson, step children Jacob Olson (Ngan), Katie Tompkins (Forrest) and grandchildren Lincoln and Liliana. Barbara is also survived by her brothers, Victor Boland (Marlice) and David Boland (Alex), as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews and their family members. 

Barbara Loved living up north and was an active member of Salem Lutheran Church in Longville, MN. Barbara had a name for every bear, chipmunk, squirrel, deer and duck that came in the yard. She loved to fish or just go for a ride on the boat. She will be missed by so many!

There will be an open house gathering on Thursday, March 27 from 4:00 - 7 :00 PM with an appetizer buffet at Phoenix Hall Event Center located at 20732 Holt Avenue in downtown Lakeville, MN. Then, on Saturday, April 12 at 1:00 PM there will be a Celebration of Life service at Salem Lutheran Church located at 1340 County Road 5, Longville, MN followed by a reception at the church.
