Betty was born in St. Paul, Minnesota and raised in Victoria, Minnesota. She was one of eleven children. She attended Guardian Angels Catholic school in Chaska and graduated in 1960. After graduation, Betty moved to San Diego, California, to be closer to her high school sweetheart, Arthur (Art) Pass, who was at that time hospitalized while on active duty in the Navy. Betty attended school in California, obtaining an Associates Degree in Business Administration.

Betty and Art moved home after Art was placed on disability leave from the Navy. They were married on May 15th, 1965. Art was honorably discharged from the Navy in June of 1965. Betty and Art soon started their family, having four children. Art passed February 15, 1972. Betty raised their children as a single mother.

Betty was forever grateful for the support of many friends and family who helped see her through the birth of Francine, and the tough years after Art’s death. Betty was courageous and bold through life's struggles until the very end of her time with us. She was unwilling to accept the phrase “you can’t” or “you shouldn’t”--to those she said “challenge accepted”. Betty was fortunately very independent! She built a lake home on her own, she took four young children on long and exciting adventures across the country, and single-handedly managed all of the responsibilities of raising her family. Her parenting techniques are legendary among family and friends. She leaves her kids with countless family stories and memories.

Betty was a hard worker, working various jobs until her career took her to Braun Intertec, where she became a Vice President in Accounting. She was admired and respected by her co-workers and retired at the age of 65.

Later in life, Betty and Norb Feist began their life together. They were able to enjoy years of travel, motorcycle trips, and ultimately, bought a winter home in Mercedes, Texas. Betty enjoyed Texas winters very much and loved all of her friends from Texas. Norb has been her dear companion and love until her last breath.

Betty was a marvelous grandmother to her grandchildren, all of whom have special stories of their times with Grandma. She was a mischievous and fun grandparent, always up for road trips, games of any sort (but a lot of cards!), and sugar filled shenanigans.

Betty was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2003. Throughout her fight with Parkinson’s, she was strong, brave and resolute, again setting an example to all of how to face life’s challenges with dignity and tenacity. The last four years have been extremely challenging for Betty. She leaves us with a hole in our hearts, but grateful that she has found freedom from Parkinson’s Disease.

Betty is forever loved by her children, Colleen (Douglas) Schneider, Dean (Lisa Bowen) Pass, Eric (Kat) Pass, Francine Pass; grandchildren, Alyse Reed, Alex Schneider, Mason (Stephanie) Schneider, Brynne Pass, Caris Pass, Will Poston, Odin Pass, Quinn Pass; great-grandchildren, Lamar Reed, Dorian Reed, Roman Reed, Julian Reed, Quinton Reed, Donovan Reed, Jeremy Schneider; siblings, Pat (Bob) Bergs, Lavonne "Tiny" Walsh, Tony (Sue) Schrempp, Steve Schrempp, Irene (David) Schmieg, Bernie Schrempp, Pete Schrempp, Tess (Wade) Lee; significant other, Norb Feist and many other loving relatives and friends.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Pass; parents, Leonard and Evelyn (Simons) Schrempp; Siblings; Joan Kranz and Jim Schrempp.
