The Celebration of Life Service will be on Wednesday, July 11 at 7 pm, with visitation starting at 4 pm, all at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home 4565 Pleasant Street SE, Prior Lake, MN. Pastor Mark Schmid will officiate. Brian David will be laid to rest with his mother at Spring Lake Cemetery in Prior Lake, MN at a private family burial.
His Story
On September 14, 1973 in Shakopee, MN, Brian David was born to parents DelRoy and Barbara Johnson. He was the youngest of four children and the bonus child in his mother’s eyes. Brian David’s childhood years were spent growing up in Spring Lake. Being that younger sibling, he took great pride in being an uncle. He treasured the times spent with his nieces and nephews. Life however changed for Brian David, when he lost his mother to cancer, at the young age of 14.
Graduating from Prior Lake High School in 1992, Brian David enlisted into the United States Navy in April of 1992. He was stationed in Florida and the East Coast and honorably discharged in the fall of 1993. Returning from the service, Brian David attended North Dakota State University on the G.I. Bill. Moving to Minneapolis, he became a dispatcher for a courier company for many years. In more recent years, Brian David enjoyed being a bartender.
Brian David enjoyed mountain biking, golfing and playing video games. He loved traveling out west and visiting his dad in Arizona. Brian David will be truly missed for his sense of humor and mischievous side. Brian David had a good heart, caring personality and was a friend to many.
A resident of Minneapolis and formerly of Prior Lake, Brian was 38 years young, when he passed away unexpectedly and joined his mother, Barbara in heaven on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at his home.
Forever loved, Brian will be deeply missed by his parents, DelRoy and Gail Johnson of Prescott, AZ; Mark (Kara) Johnson of Inver Grove Heights, Janelle (John) Abraham of Cannon Falls, Dawn Ryan of Prior Lake, Shannon (Chino) Arellano of Valencia, CA, and Samantha (Jeff) Schmidt of Eden Prairie; many loving nieces and nephews, other relatives and devoted friends.
Urn bearers for Brian David will be Mallory Johnson and Tyler Ryan.
