Brian William was born on March 4, 1973, in Edina, MN to William and Diane (Curson) Huttner. Brian began his active life growing up in Burnsville, MN, with his older brother Jeff. One of his core memories growing up was getting a dirt bike at 10 years old. He also loved to play baseball, learned how to skate and play hockey, and loved to rollerblade at a young age. Brian and his friends were known to get themselves into a little bit of mischief on their blades, going all the way from Eagan to Minneapolis at night to get to the best spots in town. He enjoyed hanging out with his friends and family and cherished trips up to the cabin on White Fish, where Brian learned how to kneeboard. As a family, they shared fond memories vacationing in Florida, Hawaii, and numerous other destinations.
As active as he was, Brian was ready to get to work as soon as he could. At the age of 15, he got a job at Snyders Drug Store, which taught him valuable people and social skills, setting him up for a long, successful career. At 16, he was introduced into the pizza business and excelled as an employee. After his graduation from Burnsville High School, Brian went on to try a few things. He took flying lessons and was able to get his license. He also went to college to study business, but quickly decided it wasn’t necessary and went on to buy into his first pizza franchise, Pizza and Pasta, which he dedicated his life to. He worked out of the Burnsville, Eagan, Chaska, and Shakopee locations before owning and operating Pizza and Pasta in Prior Lake/Savage for many years.
Over the years, Brian was blessed with three children, Trenton, Londyn, and Aiden. He truly embraced his fatherhood in the past decade or so and was able to grow his relationship with each of them. Brian was always thrilled to share his new hobbies and activities with his oldest son, Trenton. Although Brian didn’t like to sit still for long, they bonded playing video games and shared a special trip out in the boonies of Florida on a fishing charter and hog hunting. Brian was an inspiration to his daughter, Londyn, as a firefighter and although they were only ever able to form a long-distance relationship, Brian loved her very much. His youngest son, Aiden is Brian in a smaller form. He loved to be active and together, they shared their love of hockey and racing. Brian was able to coach Aiden and cherished his time hanging out and having lunch with the team. Aiden loved spending time at the pizza shop with Brian every Monday. As he grew his relationship with Aiden, Brian also found a connection unlike any other in his life with Aiden’s mother, Julie Kubiszewski. Their love continued to grow, shaping toward a wonderful life together. Brian was always working towards a goal and on bettering himself, and his children and family were at the top of that list.
Ten years ago, Brian came home to a fire in his house. He was inspired by the service of the local fire department and decided he wanted to return the favor. Brian joined the Savage Fire Department and committed to taking on the challenge of developing himself. Brian was truly a team player and knew his role. Brian applied himself fully, and met every goal set by the department, eventually becoming a key figure and leader of the organization. His dedication to improving himself and his hard work led to his achievement of Firefighter of the Year, something he was extremely proud of. When Brian set his mind to something, he was going to achieve it. Brian was driven, goal oriented, and always strived to help others. His kind and caring soul will be greatly missed by all.
On July 8th, 2024, Brian underwent a traumatic brain injury that rapidly changed the course of his life. His family rallied around him and stayed by his side until he tragically passed away on July 20th, 2024.
Brian is survived by his children, Trenton, Londyn, and Aiden; mother, Diane Huttner; father, William (Carol) Huttner; brother, Jeffrey Huttner; nephew, Alexander Huttner; girlfriend, Julie Kubiszewski; and other loving relatives and friends.
