Cal Esboldt, age 86, of Burnsville, formerly of Prior Lake and Jordan, passed away June 21, 2017. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at 11AM with a visitation 1-hour prior at Immanuel Lutheran on Fish Lake, 20200 Fairlawn Ave, Prior Lake. Pastor Brent Parrish will preside.
Cal was born August 24, 1930 on the family farm in Jordan, MN. After graduating high school, Cal attended Mankato State. He briefly lived in California, but returned home to work with MnDOT. This career spanned 31 years. One of Cal’s biggest achievements was constructing I-35 from Highway 13 to the southern limits of Scott county—a feat that took him nearly 6 years.
Cal had many interests from going agate hunting to reading books and monitoring the stock market. His dry sense of humor will be remembered by his nephews, Joe Delaney, Gary Esboldt and his close friends. Cal is reunited in heaven with his parents, Emil (Ida) Esboldt; siblings, Melvin, Emil (Mae), Laverne (Joe) Delaney.
