On October 22, 2003, Caleb was born in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. Along with his family, they lived throughout the twin cities metro, as well as Texas, before settling in Belle Plaine. From a young age, Caleb loved being around his family and especially enjoyed his time in Texas, where he lived near his grandparents.
When Caleb was twelve years old, he was diagnosed with a rare disorder Pantothenate Kinase-Associated Neurodegeneration (PKAN). While this poised many challenges for him and his family, Caleb’s spirit never wavered. He always had fun and wanted to make others happy. Laughter and smiles were never in short supply with Caleb! His sarcastic and witty banter brought joy to his family and friends.
Despite Caleb’s medical setbacks, he lived an amazing life. He attended Belle Plaine High School, where he made many friends, especially with his teachers who he relentlessly teased. Caleb knew exactly what to say to rile others up!
Outside of school, Caleb enjoyed video games with his younger brothers. Together, they spent countless hours playing Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto, God of War, and Minecraft. Caleb embraced being a big brother, not only to his own siblings, but others as well. He was great with babies, toddlers, and small children. Caleb was also an animal lover. He was fortunate to have his own dogs and was able to convince his teachers to bring their pets to school for visits.
The Pombert family extends their deepest appreciation to the Belle Plaine Community, the PKAN community, and all the individuals who have supported Caleb. Whether it was a kind word or action, your compassion made all the difference in Caleb’s life. Caleb was a blessing to his family—he taught them the importance of love and persistence.
