Cheryl Ann (Gargano) Fox

Cheryl Ann Fox (Gargano), age 55 of Webster Minnesota, passed away on April 21, 2025, one day prior to her 56th birthday. She was surrounded by her family and friends.

Cheryl was born April 22, 1969, in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, to Gordon (Jim) and Frances (Cookie) Gargano (Novak). Cheryl graduated from Anoka High School in 1987 where she played fast-pitch softball. It was during this time that Cheryl developed many lifelong friendships with her teammates that last to this day.

Cheryl continued to the University of Minnesota-Duluth, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree. After college she worked in the health care industry for over 30 years prior to retiring from Express Scripts in 2024.

Cheryl met Jonathan Fox in 2002, and they were married on February 9, 2007, in Hawaii. Over the next 18 years Cheryl and Jon created a life filled with love surrounded by friends and family. Cheryl and Jon built their house in Webster and purchased a second home in Port St. Lucie, Florida, so that Cheryl could enjoy year-round sun and spend more time with Jon’s family who live nearby.

Cheryl enjoyed life and lived it as she approached everything important to her – full on and on her terms. Outside of spending time with Jon she loved to be active, whether it was time in her garden, playing golf, or cooking, she loved to stay busy. In the kitchen Cheryl was always experimenting and creating great meals, even though it often meant we only got to enjoy them once since she rarely wrote things down.

Cheryl and Jon hosted many poolside parties over the years for their friends and family, opening their home to anyone who wanted to come over and have a good time in the sun, enjoy life, and a ‘few’ drinks. There will always be a chair left open for Cheryl that cannot be filled.

If you knew Cheryl, you knew that she loved dogs. Several puppies won the dog lottery by being part of Cheryl and Jon’s life including Ozzy, Goober, Dexter and Daisy. Many of them were rescue dogs and they enjoyed their time together to the fullest. If you have never heard Cheryl’s dog speaking voice you have truly missed out!

Not to be outdone by the dogs, Cheryl’s nephews also held a special place in her heart. She loved to spend time with all of them either in the pool, at Viking’s training camp, on the golf course, or various other sporting events.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her father Gordon Gargano. She is survived by her husband Jon Fox and their two boys Leo and Bruce; mother, Frances Gargano (Novak); brother, Tony Gargano and his wife Trisha Gargano (Rasmussen) and nephews Christopher and Joseph Gargano; sister-in-law Jennifer Carter, her husband Joe, and nephew Dylan Fox-Carter; brother-in-law Justin Fox.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in Cheryl’s memory to her favorite charities. Cheryl loved dogs and spent a considerable amount of her time dedicated to helping others, please follow her lead. Cheryl’s charities of choice are the Randy Shaver Cancer Research & Community Fund where she volunteered for 20 years and the Humane Society of Golden Valley.
