Clifford Steven Crooks Sr, a member of the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community, was 87 years old when he passed away peacefully on Friday, June 3, 2016 at his home.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 7 from 5-8 pm and on Wednesday, June 8 starting at 10 am, with a funeral service held at 11 am, all the Tiowakan Spiritual Center, 14625 Prairie Grass Drive, Prior Lake, MN. Services led by Dakota Prayer Services Janice Bad Moccasin.
Pall bearers will be Adam Foglesong, Christian Foglesong, Gary Borchert, Danny Crooks, Chuck Eastman and Kenneth Thomas. Honorary Pallbearers, Kyle Foglesong & Jim Eastman. Clifford will be laid to rest at Mission Memorial Park, Seaside, California.
Clifford was born on October 11, 1928 in Long Beach, California to parents, Amos and Ellen (Felix) Crooks. He served over 20 years in the United States Army. Clifford married Rumi Kotegawa on February 13, 1956. Together, they were blessed with three children, Grace, Clifford Jr and Christine. Rumi passed on August 9, 2000. Clifford married Kimberly Eastman on July 10, 2010.
Left to honor Clifford’s life and mourn the death is his wife, Kim Crooks; children, Grace (John) Chianelli, Clifford Jr. (Hyesuk) Crooks, Christine (Harold) Foglesong; step-daughter, Angelica Hayes; grandchildren, Yasmine Foglesong, Adam (Marie) Foglesong, Kyle Foglesong, Taylehr Foglesong, Christian Foglesong, Carissa (Terrance) Low, Steven (Yasmine) Crooks; great-grandchildren, Remy Foglesong, Jayden Low, Ethan Low; brother-in- law, Stuart Walker; many relatives and friends.
Clifford was preceded in death by first wife, Rumi Crooks; parents; brothers, Amos Crooks Jr., Harold Crooks, Clarence Crooks, Conrad Crooks, Norman Crooks & Robert Crooks; sisters, Delores Walker and Betty Blue.
