It was a warm spring day in Marystown on April 30, 1937 when Albert and Alvina (Geis) Stang celebrated the birth of their beautiful baby girl, Corrine Clara Stang. Corrine was the second of four children. She loved growing up on the family farm. She and her sister Arlene were the oldest so they got to help with all of the farm chores which developed into a great work ethic and shaped her character. Corrine attended Marystown Catholic School and later graduated from Shakopee High School.

After graduation, Corrine got a job working at the Red Owl warehouse in Hopkins. One day, Corrine was set up on a blind date that soon turned into love at first sight . Corrine and Ronald spent their first date dancing together at the Spring Lake Pavilion. Their love grew quickly, and they exchanged wedding vows on June 1, 1957 in Marystown.

Once they were married, Corrine and Ronald moved to Prior Lake and started a family. They were blessed with four active boys, Robert, John, William and James. They raised their family for many years in a little house near the Wagon Wheel Bridge, but they eventually wanted a home with a little more space so they moved to Credit River.

While the kids were young, Corrine stayed home. She was a wonderful wife and a loving mother. Corrine was an excellent cook and passed her skills on to each of her boys. When her boys were a little older, Corrine began working as a lunch lady at the local school. She loved spending her days interacting with all of the students who’d come through the lunch line. Corrine had a number of other jobs throughout the years, but she always managed to find her way back to the school.

Corrine also spent a lot of time volunteering at church and at the local VFW where she was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary. She made many friends and treasured all of the time she spent with them. Corrine especially enjoyed Sunday polkas with her friends.

During their marriage, Corrine and Ronald visited Germany and made frequent trips up to the family cabin in Jacobsen, MN. After retirement, Corrine continued to do a lot of traveling. She particularly enjoyed two trips to Alaska. Corrine loved being outside. She’d spend hours in her flower and vegetable gardens. Corrine also liked feeding the birds. She’d go through a couple hundred pounds of birdfeed each month. The birds in Credit River were without question the best fed birds in the area.

Family and Faith were the most important things in Corrine’s life. She had an unwavering faith, and truly lived a Catholic life. Corrine always had a way of turning bad days into good ones. She was a loving wife, forgiving mother, kind sister and a caring grandma. Her grandkids were her pride and joy. She loved having them over and always had candy ready to share with them.

A little more than two years ago, Corrine moved into Keystone Assisted Living’s Memory Care. She received wonderful care from the staff and enjoyed frequent visits from her family. In the late hours of Friday, January 2, 2015 Corrine went to be with her Lord and joined the angels in Heaven.

Corrine will be deeply missed and remembered always by her children, Bob (Lisa) Hadac of Montana, John Hadac of Prior Lake, Bill (Tina) Hadac of Prior Lake, Jim (Shannon) Hadac of Wisconsin; grandchildren, Jesse (Jen), Zack, Allie, Drew, Tony, Ellie and Maddie; great-grandchild, Kali; brother, Al (Joan) Stang of Marystown; other loving relatives and friends. There to greet Corrine in Heaven is her husband, Ronald Hadac; granddaughter, Cari Hadac; parents, Albert and Alvina (Geis) Stang; siblings, Jerry Stang and Arlene (Willard) Hennen.

The Hadac family is served with honor, care and compassion by Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation.
