Darlene E. Johnson, age 89 of Shakopee, MN, left this world suddenly on Monday, September 18, 2023. A celebration of Darlene’s life will be held from 2-3:30 PM on Monday, September 25, 2023 with a memorial service led by Pastor Larry Kasten at 3:30 PM, all at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation, 833 Marschall Rd, Shakopee.
Darlene was a caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She was born to Gladys and Frances Beadle on September 3, 1934. She was born at home in Wells, Minnesota in a farmhouse shared by her Grandparents, Einer and Dena Jenson.
Darlene loved sharing her time with family and friends. She was very crafty and knitted many afghans for family and friends, and embroidered many baby quilts for her grandkids who she loved dearly. She enjoyed bingo, reading and doing search a word books. She also enjoyed coloring and colored many pictures for the monthly bulletin boards at St. Gertrude’s where she resided and called home. Darlene loved to play cards, and her favorite card game was “Kings in the Corner”. She loved listening to Joyce Meyers, Joel Osteen and Pastor Mike Novotny, on Sunday mornings. Her smile and sassy personality are a gift she gave to us all. She will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.
Darlene is survived by her daughters, Renata Johnson, Pat (Don) Hanson, and Ronda Johnson; grandchildren, Scott (Sherri) Gerold, Chris (Amy) Gerold, Jason (Dawn) Gerold, Jeromie (Jessica) Gerold, Jenny Gerold, Chad Weis, Nathan Weis, and Jacob Johnson; many great-grandchildren; a great-great granddaughter; siblings, Becky Green, LuAnn Hultgren, and Brad (Angie) Hallum; and many other relatives and friends.
Darlene is greeted in heaven by her daughter, Suzanne Glynn; parents, Gladys and Frances; and sisters, Diane and Sandra.
