She will be laid to rest at St. Michael Catholic Cemetery, Prior Lake, MN, following the luncheon.

Gracing this world on June 10, 1965 in Slayton, MN, Debra Lynn was born to parents, Jerry and Judy (Grimmius) Doppenberg. Growing up in Chandler, MN, she was the older sister to Kevin. As a young girl, the family’s love for the outdoors was instilled in Deb. The family spent countless weekends, camping, fishing, boating and just being together. Many Memorial Day Weekend, she and her family enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends camping and boating on Dead Lake in Otter Tail County, MN. Deb also loved to participate in 4H, where she excelled in baking, sewing and showing cattle.

After graduating from Chandler-Lake Wilson High School, MN, Deb furthered her education at Stewart School of Cosmetology in Sioux Falls, SD. Here, she earned a Cosmetology Degree and taking her craft working at various shops in southwestern, MN. In 1992, Deb moved to the Twin Cities area and continued being a stylist. Wanting a new adventure, she worked several decades as an administrative assistant at St Francis Regional Medical Center, Park Nicollet Medical Center and in more recently years at Prairie Care in Chaska, MN.

While working part time as a cashier at Menards, there was a co-worker who took a fond interest in Deb. His name was Gregory Segler and spent numerous hours making sure the candy and items near her register were always in tip-top shape. It took some persistence on his part, but Deb finally said yes to a date on Valentine’s Day. They instantly hit it off and shared many of the same interests. As the relationship grew, she also welcomed into her life, Greg’s daughter, Mickenzy Rae. Deb thought the world of her and relished their time together.

In 2001, Deb and Greg built a beautiful home in Jordan. She loved spending countless hours outside landscaping and tending to her vegetable and flower gardens. Deb had quite a knack for gardening. She also had a gift of restoring old furniture to its original beauty. As a couple and family, Deb and Greg continued both of their loves of camping. For many years, they spent weekends at Fish Lake Campground enjoying fishing, boating and her favorite past time of camping…sitting around the campfire and roasting marshmallows. What is unique about Deb, she owned her own camper and was not afraid to pull a large unit behind the truck. I guess you could say she was determined and independent, as a woman.

On November 13, 2015, Deb and Greg decided to tie the knot. Unfortunately, they were only able to enjoy a few years of wedded bliss. In November of 2017, Deb was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). She fought the fight hard and was determined to survive. Now Deb’s family is left to carry on her character of meticulous, organized and efficient ways. Very determined and strong willed, Deb always had the best of others in mind and loved each person in a very special way.

Forever missed, Deb was truly loved by her husband, Greg; mother, Judy (Bob) Holt; father, Jerry (Jan) Doppenberg; brother, Kevin (Sherri) Doppenberg; niece, Ashlynn; nephew, Kory; parents-in-law, Harlan and Carol Segler; sister-in-law, Julie (Dutch La Tour) Segler; other relatives and friends.

There to greet Deb home in heaven is Greg’s daughter, Mickenzy Rae Segler and her grandparents.
