Delbert “Del” Lindsay, formerly of Hastings, passed away June 22, 2017 at the age of 75. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 6:00 PM with visitation one-hour prior at Hope Lutheran Church (201 Hope Avenue) in Jordan. Pastor Steve Thompson will preside. Del will be laid to rest in Georgetown, Illinois.
Del was born to parents James and Jeanette Lindsay on July 3, 1941. After completing high school, Del proudly served our country in the United States Air Force. He married the love of his life on August 19, 1962. Del and Wanda were blessed with two wonderful children, Teresa and Jim. They raised their family in Illinois. Del worked as manager for Allegheny Commuter Airlines, a service manager for Flowers Sales & Service, and a Snap On Tool salesman. The family then moved to Hastings, MN where Del worked as a Ready Mix driver for Model Stone/Aggregate Industries. He was a paid up for life member of the American Legion in Hastings, as well a Forty & Eight and past Commander.
Del was a loving husband, father and papa. He will be missed deeply by his children, Teresa (Paul) Gaukstad, James “Jim” Lindsay; grandchildren, Holden Lindsay, Mindi (Joey) Trigger, Kara (Nick) Reich, Brian (Molly Schwister) Gaukstad; great-granddaughter, Crystina Rose Trigger; siblings, Verlyn James (Maite) Lindsay, Eileen (John) Langford; other loving relatives and friends. Del was greeted in Heaven by his wife, Wanda; parents, James and Jeanette; sister, Louisa Mae (Loren) Lundahl. Pallbearers are Holden Lindsay, Mindi Trigger, Kara Reich, Nick Reich, Brian Gaukstad, Paul Gaukstad.
