Diane Roseth

Diane Roseth, aged 79, of Prior Lake, passed away on September 15, 2024.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Diane’s honor on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 1PM with a Time of Gathering from 12PM-1PM, all at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation, 4565 Pleasant St SE, Prior Lake. Diane will be laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a private family ceremony.

Diane Marie Roseth was born on January 14, 1945 to parents Thomas Sr. and Myrtle (Lee) Gilderhus in Elkton, Minnesota. Diane was the youngest of five children, three girls and two boys. Growing up in Elkton, the family enjoyed living their lives, doing the daily tasks, and being together. In high school, Diane was a cheerleader, and would soon go onto graduate and receive her high school diploma.

It wasn’t long before Diane would meet her future husband, David Roseth. Diane was grocery shopping at the local Piggly Wiggly when David spotted her. He was able to woo her with his incredible bagging skills at the check out. They soon married on June 26, 1965 and started their long life together.

Diane and David would soon move out to California for a short time due to David’s military service in the Navy. They quickly moved back home to Minnesota, missing the weather. They started their family, having two sons, Scott and Daniel. While Diane was raising her sons, she was also working at various places such as Control Data, ThermoKing, and Gelco. She worked in the accounting department where she truly excelled!

When the kids were young, Diane was very involved with their lives. She was a Den Mother for her son’s Cub Scout Troop, went to every sporting event, and would volunteer in their classrooms at school. She loved to camp with her family and just be there to support them in any way she could.

As she got older and gained the title grandma, new life was breathed into her. Although distance made seeing the grandchildren tricky, it didn’t stop her from babysitting and going to all their birthday parties!

In her retirement years, Diane and David enjoyed spending their time at the VFW in Prior Lake, watching the Gopher or Vikings games, or just sitting in their chairs watching the TV. They did some traveling as well to Hawaii, Mackinac Island, and Branson.

Diane’s supportive, patient, and loving nature will be forever remembered by her sons, Scott (Connie) and Dan (Amanda) Roseth; grandchildren, Emily, Preston, Hannah, Sophia, Chris (Colleen), Tyler (Cody); great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Cora, Aila, Margo, Addie; siblings, Mavis Wermager and JoAnn (Bill) Dillon; and other loving family and friends.

Diane is preceded in death by husband, David; parents Thomas Sr. and Myrtle; siblings, Larry (Carol) Gilderhus and Tom (Pat) Gilderhus Jr.; and brother-in-law, Ken Wermager.
