Diane M. Stoer

On Wednesday, November 26, 1952 in Manitowoc, WI, Diane Marie was born to parents Elroy and Marcy (Olp) Spatchek. The third of four children, Diane’s childhood years were spent growing up in Reedsville, WI. As a young girl, she loved playing with kittens on the family farm, often dressing them in doll clothes and pushing them around in a baby buggy. Diane and her sisters spent many hours playing with their dolls. Her favorite was the bride doll. Diane graduated from Reedsville High School in 1971.

Holding various jobs throughout her life, Diane spent most of her career being a devoted wife and a loving mother. Shortly after high school, she married and had a son, Jeremy. Diane then remarried Robert “Bob” Lee Stoer on July 28, 1978 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Two Rivers, WI. Her family grew to include, Bob’s daughter, Natalie and later was blessed with two more sons, Ryan and Michael.

Moving to Shakopee in 1984 from Normal IL, the Stoer family joined Mount Olive Evangelical Lutheran Church. Diane was a true faithful servant. She was always coordinating and organizing some event, group or function, at the church. Diane also was involved with Ruth Guild, church cleaning crew, church family circle, blood mobile, meals on wheels, vacation bible school teacher, church greeter, and an organizer of the prayer chain.

Diane and Bob loved to travel the United States, but treasured their trips to Switzerland, Brazil, and Hawaii. They were distributors for Princess Soft Toys/Animal Fair. Diane would design and create toys for special events and promotions.

A love for the outdoors, Diane spent countless hours tending to the flowers in her gardens. She enjoyed watching the many birds visiting the numerous feeders in the yard, with the cardinal being Diane’s favorite. An avid reader of books, novels and magazines and a fan of HGTV, these avenues allowed Diane to dream up the next big landscape project or house decorating plan.

Diane’s biggest passion in life was being a grandma. She loved to spoil her grandkids. Diane relished following Tyler’s hockey adventures and treating him to trips to M.O.A. and Camp Snoopy. Shopping for Brielle, she always wanted to find that special outfits. Adoring animals, Diane cherished bonding with all of her animals through the years, Patch, Duke and especially Colie the dog, Gixxer and Tigz the cats.

A caring, compassionate and loving, wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister, Diane always put others needs before her own. The early morning of Saturday, February 23, 2013, Diane, age 60, passed away into the arms of the Lord, with her family present at the bedside of her home.
