Doris H. Lindholm

We celebrate the life of Doris H. Lindholm, who was born on December 18, 1926, to Clarence and Bessie Recknor in Polk, Nebraska, and has entered into the presence of her Lord on January 23, 2025, at the age of 98. 

Doris attended school in Polk, Nebraska. In 1946, she married the love of her life, Wayne Lindholm, and together they started their married life farming. They moved to Lincoln, Nebraska, in 1956. Later in life, Doris and Wayne relocated to Prior Lake, Minnesota, in 2014 and continued to share their abiding love and devotion to one another until Wayne’s passing in 2016.

Doris is lovingly remembered by her two sons (and their spouses): DeVern (Sharon) and Russell (Pam). Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Amy Lindholm; Greg Lindholm (Sigrid) and their daughters Svea and Hilde; Jeff Lindholm (Mollie); and Abby Meadows (Trent) and their children Sydney and Samantha.

Throughout her life, Doris was dedicated to serving others. She played a pivotal role in organizing the Lincoln Ostomy Association and educated nurses across Eastern Nebraska about ostomy care. She was actively involved in church ministries during her years in Lincoln.

Doris was also known for her creativity and skill as a cake decorator. She brought joy to many by creating beautiful cakes that added sweetness to life’s most precious celebration, from wedding receptions to family gatherings. 

Her faith-filled life and dedication to family and community leave an enduring legacy. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
