Dorothy A. Hanson age 85 formerly of Shakopee.
Dorothy Alice Hanson was born to Floyd S. and Floy A. Davis on March 24, 1926 on a farm near Lake Crystal, Minnesota. She was one of seven children who grew up on farms near Mankato. On June 12, 1948 she married Ervin Hanson (AKA Lefty) in Fulda, MN and moved to Shakopee in 1957, where they raised their children, Steve and Barb. Lefty retired from the phone company in 1975 and they moved to Lake Miltona, which was where they had spent weekends and vacations for over 15 years. They purchased a small house on the lake and lived their dream life, fishing and entertaining friends and family. They wintered in Las Vegas for a few years before Lefty passed away in 1997, and Dorothy soon moved back to Shakopee, where she remained until 2005, and she resided for the next 6 years at Trinity Care Center in Farmington.
Dorothy is survived by her children Steve and Carol Hanson of Farmington and daughter Barb and Rick Stein of Kilkenny; grandchildren Dawn Smith, Jeff Hanson (Dana), Eric Hanson, and Angie Stein; great grandchildren Mikayla and Gavin Hanson, Dan Smith (Heather), Amanda Smith; great granddaughter Lilian Strong; sisters Marge Pasbrig, Donna Morris, and Evelyn (Herb) TeGantvoort, and many nieces and nephews.
