Doug’s life story

Douglas H. Kahn

At the age of 70, Douglas Hershey Kahn met King Jesus on Monday, November 4, 2013, at his home in Prior Lake, MN. The Celebration of Life Service will be on Thursday, November 7 at 10 am, at Fort Snelling Memorial Chapel, Fort Snelling Historic Site exit off of Hwy 55, with visitation one hour prior. Doug will be laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN, with full military honors provided by the Fort Snelling Memorial Rifle Squad.

On June 2, 1943 in St. Paul, MN, Douglas Hershey Kahn was born to parents Nathan and Frances (Rastad) Kahn. Most of Doug’s career was spent in sales. He was blessed with three sons, John, Paul, David and proudly served in the United States Navy.

Doug enjoyed singing Karaoke, playing golf and fishing with family and friends. A faithful servant of King Jesus, Doug led a bible study group every Monday at Perkins. Family was most important in his life. He treasured times spent with his children and especially his grandchildren and great-grandson.

A beloved, father, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother and faithful friend, Doug will be deeply missed and remembered always by sons, John Lang of Lakeville, Paul (Melissa) Kahn of Rosemount, David (Bridget) Kahn of Jordan; grandchildren, Sage Lang, Brandon Kahn, Macy Kahn, Lexi Kahn, London Kahn, Jaeger Kahn, Sophie Kahn, Sadie Kahn, Fletcher Kahn, Sawyer Kahn, Hudson Kahn, Phoebe Kahn; great-grandson, J.R. Kahn; former wife, Sally Kahn of St. Paul; brothers, David (Antoinette) Kahn of Lakeville, Ronald (Mary) Johnson of Black River Falls, WI; other loving relatives and devoted friends.

Doug is preceded in death by parents, Nathan and Frances; brothers, Alvin Johnson and Robert Johnson.

Pall bearers for Doug will be his sons, John, Paul and David; grandsons, Brandon and Jaeger and brother, David.

Memorials are preferred to Doug’s family.
