Born on November 27, 1935, in Loma, North Dakota, Ernie was the son of Nora and Joseph Spratt. He graduated from Langdon High School in Langdon, ND, in 1952. With a strong sense of duty, he proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
In 1961, Ernie married the love of his life, Sharon (Rodahl), and together they built a beautiful life in Prior Lake, where they resided for 62 years. He worked for Continental Machines in Savage, MN, for 32 years, bringing dedication and integrity to his profession.
Ernie’s greatest joy was his family. He led by example—working hard, playing hard, and cherishing every moment spent with those he loved. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he was their biggest fan, attending their sporting events and celebrating their achievements. He was a man of quiet strength, unwavering support, and deep kindness, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Ernie is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Sharon; his two sons, Kelly (Deb) and Todd (Carla); and his five cherished grandchildren, Tanner, Dezirae, Benjamin, Dalton, and Avery.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Earl, Neva, Doris, Bob, Anna Mae, Mabel, Ray, Joe, Norie, Ethel, Betty, Donna, and Carole; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clarence (Kelly) and Charlotte Rodahl; sister-in-law, Kittie Mae Hill and other beloved relatives.
