A resident of Shakopee, formerly of Prior Lake, Ethel Louise Bjorklund, age 88, passed away peacefully at home Thursday, February 12. She was born on July 9, 1926 in Emerald, WI.
The Celebration of Life Service will be on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 11 am, at Fish Lake Immanuel Lutheran Church, 20200 Fairlawn Avenue, Prior Lake, MN, with visitation 2 hours prior to the service. The Reverend Dr. Brent Parrish will preside. Pallbearers are David Bjorklund, Andy Mesenbring, Andy Romine and Chad Brown. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Memorials are preferred and will be distributed by Ethel’s family.
Ethel is preceded in death by parents, Oscar and Alma Rothe; brothers, Chuck (Virgil) Rothe, Bob Rothe, Earl (Ilene) Rothe; sister, Evelyn Rothe; granddaughter, Jill (Brown) Berge. She is survived by loving husband of nearly 65 years, Bill; son, Bruce (Gloria) Bjorklund; brother, Ralph (Violet) Rothe; sisters, Dee (Ed) Paasch, Carol (Denny) Paulson, Janet (Dick) Locke; sister-in-law, Gloria Rothe; grandchildren, Sony (Andy) Mesenbring, Siera (Andy) Romine, David Bjorklund, Chad (Mary) Brown; great-grandchildren, Karley, Ava, Brenna, Alaina, Vanessa, and Mia.
Ethel was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend and she will truly be missed. God be with her till we meet again. Ethel and Bill are members at Immanuel Lutheran Church since 1962.
The Bjorklund is served with honor, care and compassion by Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation.
