A Christian Funeral will be held in Ileen’s honor at 11:00 AM with a Time of Gathering from 9:30-10:45 AM, on Saturday, July 13, 2024, all at Mount Olive Lutheran Church (12700 Marystown Road) in Shakopee. Pastor John Stelljes will preside. Ileen will be laid to rest at Valley Cemetery in Shakopee.
Ileen was born on September 16, 1944, to Harry and Fern (Mickle) Fahleen in Wheaton, MN. As one of the younger siblings in a large family, she learned hard work and how to stay busy growing up on the farm. Ileen established an active social life early on. Her mischievous streak led to Ileen meeting the love of her life! While skipping school, her and her friend were wandering around when Delbert and his friend drove past. They decided to offer them a ride and the rest was history! Ileen and Delbert were married on December 16, 1961, in a small ceremony in Minneapolis, MN. They lived there for a few years before moving to Shakopee, where they continued the growth of their family. Ileen and Delbert lived in Shakopee until they retired before moving north to their cabin.
Ileen worked at various electronic infrastructures. After years in this profession and while still being fully employed, she began classes to become certified. Before Ileen knew it, she only had a couple of classes left in order to achieve a full associates degree, which she did. Ileen was very proud of her degree, which enabled her to have high positions in her professional career.
Ileen started a hobby job distributing Avon products, which she continued well after retirement and a position at the local store near their cabin. Ileen really loved working at the Glen store. She got to meet lots of people and loved that part the most. Ileen was very active. She was very energetic, friendly, cheerful and sometime even goofy.
Ileen and Delbert took their kids camping on weekends. They would go fishing, water skiing and cooking over an open campfire in the summer and snowmobiling in the winter. Ileen enjoyed cooking, puzzles, gardening and painting. She and her family had different pets throughout the years, but Ileen’s cockatiels were her favorites.
Ileen was blessed with 4 children, 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, all of which she loved unconditionally.
Ileen was a kind, caring soul. She loved her family and friends. Ileen was strong and energetic her whole life. She will be greatly missed by her loving husband, Delbert; children, Renae Goetz, Jennifer Larson, Lewis Fiihr, and Rusty Fiihr; grandchildren, Bryan Goetz, Jessica Goetz, Christopher Marte, Anthony Marte, Alex Larson, Alissa Larson; great grandchildren, Joshua Meyer, Dominic Meyer, Blake Goetz; brother, Robert Fahleen; and many other loving relatives and friends.
Ileen will be reunited in Heaven with her parents and the rest of her loving family members that went on before her.
