Irene M. Plonski

Irene Margaret (Koepp) Plonski, age 83, of Jordan, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024, surrounded by family at her home. Christian Funeral will be on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 11 AM, with visitation from 9:30 – 10:45 AM all at Trinity Lutheran Church, 500 West Church Street, Belle Plaine, MN. Pastor Martin Bentz will officiate. Irene will be laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Irene was born in Carver County, Belle Plaine, MN on January 9, 1941, to Walter and Helen (Hoernemann) Koepp. Irene graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 1958 and graduated from Minnesota School of Business in 1959. She worked for and retired from Minnesota Valley Electric in Jordan after 31 years of service. 

On Saturday, July 23, 1960, in Lexington, MN, Irene married William “John” Plonski at St. Joseph Catholic Church. They were blessed with two sons, Donald and Thomas and three grandchildren, Ryan, Rachel, and Samantha. Irene enjoyed bowling, fishing, gardening and playing cards. She was a long-time member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #144 in Belle Plaine, MN.

Forever loved, Irene will be deeply missed by her sons, Donald (Renee) Plonski and Thomas Plonski; grandson, Ryan Plonski; granddaughters, Rachel and Samantha Dixon; great grandchildren, Drew and Jade; siblings, Walter (Irene) Koepp and Henry (Patricia) Koepp; and many other relatives and friends.

Irene is preceded in death by her husband, John; parents, Walter and Helen Koepp; sister, Marjorie (Reuben) Tesch; and brother, Robert (Doris) Koepp.
