Irene D. Trask, age 81 of Savage, formerly of Eden Prairie, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2019. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, November 25, 2019 at 11AM with a visitation 1-hour prior at Living Christ Lutheran Church, 820 Lake Drive, Chanhassen, MN. Pastor Mark Tewes will preside.
In Minneapolis on July 15, 1938, Irene was born to parents Milton and Fern (Johnson) Salk. She grew up and attended school in Elk River. Understanding the value of education, Irene continued her schooling at the University of Minnesota where she earned a degree in physical therapy. Shortly after, Irene began working at Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
On March 18, 1960, Irene married her high school sweetheart, John “Jack” Trask, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Elk River. This union was blessed with 59 years together. Irene and Jack settled in Eden Prairie to raise their family. As their children grew older, Irene began working alongside Jack at his management consultant firm.
Irene had many pastimes—cooking, reading, gardening and crafting. She enjoyed traveling throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin with her family. The most important part of Irene’s life was her family. She cherished being a wife and mother but was especially proud to be a grandmother and great-grandmother.
A generous and intelligent woman, Irene is loved and missed by her husband, Jack Trask; children, Lisa (Danny) Trask, Paula (Thomas) Brown; grandchildren, Erica Trask, Joshua & Jordan Brown; great-granddaughter, Everly Almaraz; siblings, John (Lorraine) Salk, Lynne Kopiske; other loving relatives and friends.
Irene is greeted in Heaven by her parents, Milton (Fern) Salk.
