Isley Ann Gorter

Isley Ann Gorter got her angel wings much too soon on May 28, 2023. She was just three years old. A Gathering of Family & Friends will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2023 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. A Celebration of Life Service is Friday, June 2, 2023 at 11:00 AM with visitation one-hour prior. All services will be held at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation (4565 Pleasant St. SE) in Prior Lake. Pastor Jon Rhoades will preside.

Isley Ann, or “Pudge” as she was lovingly called by her family, was born on September 14, 2019 to Joshua and Kristin Gorter in Shakopee, MN. Growing up in the midst of COVID, Isley spent lots of time at home with her family in the first year of her life. She was shy and timid, and you had to work to win her over! Once she was comfortable, she was a bundle of happiness and energy and an absolute joy to be around. Isley really started to love people as she grew older, calling everyone “honey” and pouring on the charm with, “thank you so much”. She held onto an independent streak and wasn’t afraid to say “No!” when she wanted things her way! She loved her family and always did her best to keep up with her sisters, “Nany” and “Hadi Baby”. She was quick with a smile and a hug and loved to cuddle with Mom and Dad. She loved seeing her best friends at daycare, jumping on the “jumpoline” with her hair flying all over the place, and watching episodes of Bluey on her tablet. When it was time for bed, Isley insisted on a book, a song, and a kiss before sleeping. Her favorite song was You are my Sunshine .

Isley is loved and cherished and will live on in the hearts of her parents, Josh and Kristin Gorter; sisters, Kenley “Nany” and Hadley “Hadi Baby” Gorter; grandparents, Terri “Mima” Norby, Kevin Norby, and Mona Gorter; aunts and uncles, Amy & John LeClair, Billi & Charlie Crockett, Nick Norby, and Amanda Norby; cousins, Leah Crockett (Godmother), Taylor Crockett (Godmother), Tyler Walberer, Jake Hancock, Josh Hancock, Caden Crockett, and Matthew LeClair; Godfather, Jay Gorter; and many other loving family and friends.

Preceded in death by grandpa, Dave Gorter.

You are my sunshine
My only sunshine
You make me happy
When skies are gray
You’ll never know, dear
How much I love you
Please don’t take
My sunshine away”
