On April 29, 1947 Willis and Anada Kuboushek welcomed their second child, Jim. After living a few years in Bloomington, the family moved to their new home in the country in Prior Lake. It was here that Jim learned to love the outdoors. Jim attended school in Prior Lake and while in high school he was involved in football, baseball and band.
After graduating in 1965 he attended St. Cloud State and received a bachelor’s degree in economics. Upon graduation in 1970 Jim enlisted as an officer in the US Navy flight program. He ended his military career in the Naval Reserve. After the military Jim began his employment as a special agent for the US Treasury where he worked for 30 years. After retiring, Jim enjoyed working at NorthStar Auto Auction, spending time in his garden, and traveling with Luanne to National parks, Hawaii, Alaska, and Europe.
In 1969, 10 years after meeting each other on the school bus, Jim and Luanne went on their first date. They were married June 19, 1971 at St. Michael Catholic Church. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Jason, Joe and Suzanne. Jim passed his love of the outdoors on to his family first at their cabin in Aitkin and finally at their beloved home on Pleasant Lake in Hackensack. He spent many years coaching his children’s baseball and softball teams. He loved attending all of their games, meets, and concerts.
In 2001, his first grandchild was born, and he became Papa. Nine more grandchildren followed, and nothing made Papa Jim happier than spending time with them at the lake and his hunting land in southern Minnesota. He was a regular at their sport events, concerts, and plays.
Loving and a great family leader, Jim will be missed greatly by his loving wife, Luanne Kuboushek; children, Jason (Terresa) Kuboushek, Joe (Keri) Kuboushek, and Suzanne (Ben) Britton; grandchildren, Emma, Abigail, Noah, Jonah, Tyler, Natalie, Andrew, Anna, Sam, and Molly; Siblings, Mary Ann Giles and Betty (Jerry) Veldhuis. Jim is preceded in death by parents, Willis and Anada (Felix) Kuboushek; and brother- In- law, Jerry Giles.
