James "Jim" Pauly

James “Jim” Pauly, age 80, of Jordan, MN, passed peacefully on Sunday, December 29, 2024. 

A time of gathering will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 4-7 pm, and on Friday, January 10, 2025, from 10-10:45 am, with a Funeral Liturgy at 11 am, all at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation, 104 West First Street, Jordan. Jim will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, in Jordan. 

Donations, in lieu of flowers, will be distributed by the family in Jim’s memory. 

Jim was born to Lambert and Lucille (Theis) Pauly on July 25,1944 in Shakopee, MN, the fourth of eight children. He attended grade school in St. Joe and then graduated from Jordan High School in 1962. Jim had many great memories of growing up and working on the family farm with his brothers and sisters.

After high school, Jim worked in masonry as a block-layer for the next 40 years, building countless foundations. 

In 1971, Jim met and married the love of his life Marcy Millard. They spent the next 53 years together and were blessed with two sons, Lonnie and Scot. 

Jim’s passions were hunting, fishing, wrestling and golfing. Tending to his garden and doing almost anything that got him outdoors working with his hands.

Jim was a humble man, who had a calming and welcoming presence about him. He was always kind to others and never liked being the center of attention. Jim was always there with a grin and sense of humor at the ready.

Jim will be forever loved and remembered by wife, Marcy; sons, Lonnie (Cory) Pauly, Scot Pauly; granddaughters, Emily, Rylee, Madelyn; siblings, Marilyn Donovan, Vern (Judy) Pauly, Gary (Mazie) Pauly, Pat (Paul) Cyr, Kathy Nowakowski; other relatives and friends. 

Greeting Jim home in Heaven are his parents, Lambert and Lucille Pauly; siblings, Ronald (Geraldine) Pauly, Ken (Mona) Pauly; brothers-in-law, Jerry Donovan, Ted Nowakowski and David Brundige.
