Jane Bauer

Jane Marie Bauer, age 75, passed away peacefully August 7, 2024, at The Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine, MN. Jane was born in Madison, MN on November 20, 1948 to Fred and Martha (Croatt) Bauer. After the death of her parents, she and her siblings became part of Chuck and Sylvia Croatt’s family, her aunt and uncle. 

Jane attended Christ Child School in St. Paul, and eventually settled in Willmar where she spent most of her adult life. Jane was a nanny and formed a special bond with Mark, Suzanne & Shea Wilson. Jane loved to be around people, especially family and friends. One of her favorite places was the Willmar Community Center where she often would have a meal and play cards. Jane enjoyed “helping” people and helped deliver Meals on Wheels. She was proud to have received a WCCO Good Neighbor Award on March 31, 1980. Jane liked pulling weeds, riding the bus, and going with her friends to Doug’s Orchard. 

Jane is survived by sister Betty Raasch, sister-in-law Marcia Bauer, cousins Polly and Roger Galbraith, Bonnie Schacherer, Peter and DeAnn Croatt, Marti Croatt and Dick Mueller, Steven and Carole Croatt, Anne and Eugene Maniscalo, and their families. Also, many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Jane was preceded in death by her parents Martha and Fritz Bauer, sister Lois, brothers Bob and Jim, Sylvia, Chuck and cousin Mary Kilian. A Graveside Ceremony will be held Saturday September 28, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Madison Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the St. Croix Hospice (Ste. 200, 7755 3rd St. N., Oakdale MN 55128), the Belle Plaine Lutheran Home (337 S Meridian St., Belle Plaine MN 56011), or the Willmar Community Center (624 US-75 BUS, Willmar MN 56201).
