Cecil and Elsie (Ruff) Spavins announced the birth of their daughter Janice on July 17, 1940, in Bedford, England, UK. She was the sister to four brothers, Jim, Mick, Rob and Barry. Janice married the one love of her life, Phillip Edwin Blue, on February 11, 1963. They were blessed with two children, Lee and Stephanie.
Family was the center of Janice’s world. She especially loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were her “darlings’ and always put them first. Janice never missed a sporting event, a recital, grandparents’ day, award ceremonies, graduation, or their weddings.
Janice had many hobbies and interests. She enjoyed garage sales, playing Yahtzee, going to Mud Lake and to the pubs with her brothers and mom. Janice especially liked the trips to Florida for Christmas. A love for music, she adored Elton John and Andrew Lloyd Weber (Phantom of the Opera and Jesus Christ Superstar). Janice loved to consume butterscotch ice cream and caramels. She made the best sausage rolls, Yorkshire pudding and rice pudding.
Janice had the best laugh ever. She always wanted to make other people happy. Janice could make friends with anyone and once she knew you could talk your ear off.
Janice will be sadly missed, yet forever loved by husband of 58 years Phil; children, Lee (Kathleen) Blue, Stephanie (George) Miks; grandchildren, Jordan (Mike) Scott, Tristan (Amanda) Blue, Tamsyn (Antoine) Blue, Sheldon Miks, Makayla Miks; great grandchildren, Tegan Scott, Peyton Scott and one baby boy Blue on the way; brothers, Mick Spavins, Rob (Anne) Spavins, Barry (Linda) Spavins; other relatives and friends.
Greeting Janice home in Heaven are her parents and brother, Jim Spavins.
