Jean F. Mealman
A resident of Prior Lake, Jean F. Mealman, age 77, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, MN. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday June 4, 2014, at 11:00am, with a visitation one hour prior, all at Ballard-Sunder Funeral and Cremation, 4565 Pleasant Street SE, Prior Lake, MN. Life Tribute Specialist, Jean Breeggemann will lead the service. Jean will be laid to rest next to her husband at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, in Minneapolis, MN.
On October 22, 1936, Jean was born in Ogilvie, MN, to parents Albert and Louise (Sando) Kaslow. She is a twin to her sister Joy and welcomed by their older sister, Arrlowayne. The family moved to St. Michael, MN, where Jean grew up and graduated from Buffalo High School.
Moving to Minneapolis, she met Charles Mealman, at a local Bar and Grill. They married on October 12, 1957, in Maple Grove, MN. Jean and Charles lived in Minneapolis for 8 years and then made their move in Prior Lake, where they became long-time residents. Jean had a love of gardening, staying active at Dakota Sport and Fitness and meeting friends for breakfast after their swim.
Left to honor Jean’s life and mourn the death is her daughter, Tammy Mealman and friend, Daniel Leuer of Jordan; son, Jerry and wife, Susan Mealman of Jordan; grandsons, Nathaniel and Zachary; granddaughters, Olivia and Arianna; twin sister; Joy and husband, Calvin Schrunk of Brooklyn Park; uncle, Vernon Sando; cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceded in death and there to welcome Jean home is husband, Charles Herbert Mealman and older sister, Arrlowayne Parker.
