Jerry’s Story
Born on Friday, February 3, 1950 in Northfield, MN, Jeremy Richard was the son of Maynard and Marion (Hall) Kleeberger. He was the fourth of five children. Jerry’s childhood years were spent in the Kasson-Mantorville area, raised on the family farm and cooking side by side with his mother. In high school, he played the trombone in the band and was a team wrestling manager. Graduating from Kasson-Mantorville High School in 1968, Jerry then attended a vocational school and obtained a degree in business management.
As a young child, Jerry knew and later grew to love his high school sweetheart Vicki Marti. They later married and were blessed with a son, Brett. Unfortunately, Jerry and Vicki went their separate ways. Years later, while selling pizzas at the Air National Guard Base in St. Paul, he met a young woman by the name of Irene Jurovich. Together, for the last 26 years, Jerry and Irene welcomed and raised three daughters, Melissa, Jessica and Sarah.
Devoted to his family, Jerry treasured attending the children’s sporting activities, dance recitals, supporting them in girl scouts and many other activities along the way. He always took time out of his busy schedule to attend family weddings, funerals and other celebrations. Jerry also cherished his grandchildren Ben, Ella and Cameryn. He loved and adored each one.
Most of Jerry’s career was spent managing grocery stores and being a sales representative for Tombstone Pizza and other various companies in the Twin Cities area. A man of great dedication and strong work ethic, he worked seven days a week. Jerry made sure to greet his customers with his contagious smile and assure that their needs were met each and every day.
A talented man, Jerry was a fantastic chef and an excellent handyman. His outstanding pumpkin pie was often described as the best pie around. Jerry’s true talents showed within himself. He took life in strides and accepted life the way it was, always putting others needs first as he was a man of his word. Jerry was loyal, determined and had strong integrity. He had a great sense of humor and a contagious and hardy laugh.
A resident of Savage, Jerry Kleeberger was 62 years young, when he passed away peacefully in the presence of his family, at his home, the late evening of Saturday, June 16, 2012.
Forever loved, Jeremy will be deeply missed by his loving partner, Irene Jurovich; children, Brett (Hannah) Kleeberger of Centerville, UT, Melissa (Dan) Subra of Marthon, TX, Jessica (fiancé Ryan Beuc) Jurovich of Savage, Sarah Jurovich of Savage; grandchildren, Ben and Ella Kleeberger, Cameryn Subra; brothers, Steve (Barb) Kleeberger of Bemidji, Matthew (Nancy) Kleeberger of Kasson; many other loving relatives and devoted friends. Jeremy is preceded in death by his parents, Maynard and Marion and brothers, William and Timothy Kleeberger.
Pallbearers for Jerry will be Brett Kleeberger, Dan Subra, Ryan Beuc, Steve Kleeberger, Matthew Kleeberger and David Drews.
The visitation will be on Thursday, June 21 from 4-7 pm, at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home 833 South Marschall Road, Shakopee and with one hour prior to the Celebration of Life Service will be on Friday, June 22 at 11 a.m., at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home.
