The evening of Thursday, November 3, 2016, John William Huck Jr, age 78, passed away peacefully in the presence of his family, at Augustana Care Health Rehabilitation of Apple Valley. He was a resident of Prior Lake, MN.
On June 2, 1938 in Covington, Kentucky, John was born to parents John William Sr and Esther (Terrany) Huck. He was the eldest of six children. John graduated in 1956 from Coral Gables High School in Coral Gables, FL. He then enlisted in the United States Navy, with proudly serving for over 20 years, as a US Navy Petty Officer. John retired in 1976. He then pursued his passion in teaching, as an electronic instructor with Brown Institute, for the next 20 years.
John married Judith Ann Boxeth on November 30, 1963, at Assumption Catholic Church in Richfield, MN. They were blessed with three children, Michael, Elisabeth and Pamela. Through the years, John treasured being involved in the community, as a little league coach and Boy Scout leader. He was also a member of the Prior Lake Optimist Club.
John’s character of being humble, caring and kind that will remain in the hearts of his family forever. His was a life well led.
Left to honor John’s life and mourn the death is his wife, Judith A Huck; son, Michael William (Pam Sue) Huck and their children, Alyssa Marie, Rachael Lynne, Kristen Renae Rose; daughter, Elisabeth Anne (Allen) Coleman and their children, Brandon Allen, John Richard, Jacob Michael; daughter, Pamela Lynne (Brian) Worden and their children, James Rolfe, Madelynne Rose; siblings, Honorable Judge Paul (Donna) Huck, James (Joan) Huck, Sue (Ron) Meyer, Kathy Huck, Sylvia (Herb) Lively; nieces, nephews, many relatives and friends.
Preceded in death and there to welcome John home are his parents, John and Esther.
The visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 9, from 4-7 pm, at Ballard-Sunder Funeral and Cremation, Prior Lake Chapel and one hour prior to the Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, November 10 at 11 am, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Prior Lake, MN. Father Tom Walker will preside. John’s grandchildren will act as urn bearers, with Brandon Allen carrying the urn. John will be laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, with full military honors provided by Fort Snelling Volunteer Rifle Squad.
