Joshua will be laid to rest at St. Michael Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kurt Wagner, Troy Wagner, Michael Borka, Wade Seifert, Brian Borka, Jesse Pexa, Todd Wagner, and Kevin Wagner. Father Jim Van Dorn will preside.

On November 12, 1985 in Shakopee, MN, parents Tim and Mary Kay (Borka) Wagner celebrated the birth of first child, Joshua Alan Wagner. From a young age, Josh exhibited his intelligence—he could read at age 3 and memorize countless facts. He excelled academically at Holy Cross Catholic School (LNMV) of Webster and lettered in academics at New Prague High School.

After Josh’s high school graduation in 2004, he followed in his dad’s footsteps and took certification classes for welding. Josh was employed at Chart Industries, as well as other companies over the years. He was also employed at the Prior Lake VFW in a variety of positions, but his favorite one was being a cook. Josh put his cooking skills to use whenever he could by hosting get-togethers with his family and friends. Delicious food was never in short supply with him cooking.

Josh’s family was the foundation of his life. When he was young, he spent countless hours playing with his siblings at their country home. Summers were filled with trips to Grandma’s house at the lake, fishing, and exploring the outdoors. In the winter, the kids went sledding and snowmobiling. As a family, they went camping often, took many road trips in the motor home, and travelled to countless destinations together.

In his adult years, Josh’s life was enriched when he met Brittany at a concert. His smile alone was enough to catch her attention! The two hit it off and eventually they were happy to announce a new addition, Grayson, to the Wagner family.

The course of Josh’s life was filled with wonderful memories, but he also faced the challenge of addiction. Like many, he had good times and bad, but through it all he had the support of his family and friends. He didn’t let his addiction define him—Josh was a kind, generous individual who cared greatly for others. He will be missed by his parents, Tim and Mary Kay Wagner; sister, Cassandra (Jon) Evans; brother, Jacob (Jamie) Wagner; young son and his mother, Grayson and Brittany; nephew, Elliot Evans; niece, Clara Wagner; grandmothers, Lorraine Borka and Eileen Wagner.

Josh will be greeted in heaven by his grandfathers, Michael Wagner and Norbert Borka.

The Wagner family is cared for by the staff of Balllard-Sunder Funeral Home & Cremation.
