Kim Boyer

Kimberly “Kim” Francis Boyer (formerly of Prior Lake) was only 51 years of age, when he passed away unexpectedly at his Burnsville home on July 24, 2015.

A Celebration of Life Service will be on Saturday, August 1, 2015, at 11 am, with visitation starting at 9:30 am, both at Holy Trinity United Methodist Church 16150 Arcadia Avenue SE, Prior Lake, MN. The Reverend Chad Gilbertson will preside. Kim will be laid to rest at Spring Lake Cemetery, Prior Lake, MN. Memorials are preferred and will be distributed by the family in Kim’s memory.

Proud parents, Hubert and Doris (Turner) Boyer, announced the birth of a son, Kim, born in Minneapolis, MN on September 14, 1963. Growing up in Prior Lake with his brother Kerry and sister Kelly, he was the youngest of three children. A 1982 graduate of the Prior Lake High School, Kim attended the University of Duluth for a few years. Very knowledgeable with computers, he spent a number of years working in the family accounting business in data entry.

Life for Kim was most enjoyed outdoors. Growing up the family enjoyed packing up the station wagon and taking the annual two week vacation camping, fishing and exploring the western part of the United States. Kim also loved to hunt and fish. He relished spending time at the family land in Aitkin, MN hunting and fishing on the river. In October, Kim and his family could be found traveling to Montana for the annual hunting trip. In more recent years, Carl’s Lake was Kim’s favorite fishing hole in his kayak.

An avid reader, Kim always had a paperback nearby; at his desk, in his car and all around his home. He was also a talented and artistic woodworker, especially with a scroll saw. Kim made intricate Christmas ornaments, butterflies, and hummingbirds just to name a few of the beautiful pieces he created.

A man of few words, Kim had a quiet and very thoughtful personality. He was an individual you could always count on being there and lending a helping hand. Kim’s greatest passion was his family. He loved kids, especially his nieces, laughing, playing, and teasing with them.

Left to honor Kim’s life and mourn his death is his father, Hubert (Ceil) Boyer; brother, Kerry (Irmgard) Boyer; sister, Kelly (Todd) Loose; nieces, Ashley (Tim) Elsner, Chelsea Loose; great-niece and nephews, Abigail, Tyler, Austin, and other relatives and friends.

Kim was welcomed home in heaven by his mother Doris and grandparents.
