He enjoyed spending time with his family and many cousins by running around the neighborhood, laughing at family barbeques and getting competitive in dominos. His passion and love was running track in high school and his drive and hardworking nature helped him qualify for the 1992 Olympic Trials.
Kyhaunn attended Southwest Jr. College in Los Angeles, CA where he played football and ran track. He then received a scholarship to attend Weber State University in Ogden, Utah where he once again excelled in football and track. After his athletic elgibility was complete and in his last year at Weber State, he was proud to be the school mascot, Waldo the Wildcat. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Technical Sales and Marketing. Following college graduation, Kyhaunn played professional arena football for the Bismarck Blaze, where he helped lead his team to an IFL championship game birth and scored four touchdowns.
Meeting the love of his life at Weber State University, Andrea Willer, soon became the twinkle in his eye. They were united in marriage on June 1, 2001 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bismarck, ND. They were blessed with three children, Maxwell, Myles and Amari.
Shortly after their marriage, Kyhaunn and Andrea decided to venture on their own as they moved to San Diego, CA. It was there that they both enjoyed themselves together. They enjoyed the beauty of that area by doing many outside activities including mountain biking, hiking and taking walks by the ocean.
In the fall of 2003 they moved to Chaska, MN and soon after their lives were fulfilled with the births of their three beautiful children. Family meant the world to Kyhaunn. Kyhaunn was active with his career as a paraprofessional helping autistic children in the Eden Prairie and Minneapolis school districts, coaching track at Maple Grove High School and coaching football at Chanhassen High School and for the Eden Prairie Football Association. Eventually Kyhaunn pursued his passion of coaching and mentoring kids and athletes as a full-time career. He started at GameSpeed Sports Academy in Eden Prairie, MN and eventually broke away and started his own strength and conditioning business, In The Tank Training. He coached athletes from middle school age to professional athletes and has left a life-long impression on all the individuals he came in contact with.
Kyhaunn was a big kid at heart as he was always wrestling and playing with his children. He was a magnet to all children which so reflects the joy in his heart that he shared with all. He loved being active, going to movies and spending quiet time with his beautiful wife. He loved taking the kids to the Mall of America amusement park and enjoyed reading books to them at home or at their school.
