LaVonne E. King, age 83 of Burnsville, MN formerly of Prior Lake, MN passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Friday, October 27th, 2023.
A visitation will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023 starting at 1:30 PM at Ballard Sunder Funeral & Cremation in Prior Lake (4565 Pleasant St.). Her Celebration of Life will take place following the visitation and will start at 3:00 PM.
LaVonne was born on July 21, 1940 to Edith and Clarence Hoffman in Medford, Minnesota. She graduated from Medford High School and University of Minnesota with a medical technician degree.
She married her high school sweetheart, Gary W. King, on June 20, 1960. Together they raised four children in Prior Lake where they resided for 19 years before relocating to Burnsville, MN.
LaVonne’s passions included family, being a grandmother, antiques, travel, and volunteering. LaVonne was well known in the antiquing world and ran a successful antique business for many years.
Survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Gary; her four children, Pam Rutz, Laura King, Brad (Tina) King, and Jennifer (Jim Bach) Shinn; 9 grandchildren, Anna and Sam Rutz, Adam, Ali, and Andrew McAllen, Cade and Will King and Maxwell and Mason Shinn.
LaVonne was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Edith Hoffman and her grandson Craig King.
