Linda M. Krueger

A resident of Jordan, formerly of St. Paul, Linda Marie Krueger, was 67, when she went home to be with her Lord Wednesday morning, April 15, 2015, at St. Gertrude’s Health and Rehabilitation Center, Shakopee, MN, after a short encounter with cancer. This past weekend, she had the opportunity to spend valuable time with her husband, children, grandchildren and siblings, before passing peacefully.

All of Linda’s services will be at Immanuel Lutheran of Fish Lake, 20200 Fairlawn Avenue, Prior Lake, MN. The visitation will be on Friday, April 17 from 3:30-7 pm and Saturday from 9:30- 10:45 am with the Celebration of Life Service at 11 am. The Reverend Dr. Brent Parrish will preside. Pall bearers will be Ed Pieper, Dan Pieper, Tom Pieper, Trevor Geis, Tim Krueger and Zach Stans. Linda will be laid to rest at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

At St. Francis Hospital in Shakopee, MN, Joseph and Marcie (Streiff) Pieper proudly announced the first of eleven children, Linda, born on July 13, 1947. Raised on a farm in Marystown, she attended grade school at Marystown Parish School. Linda furthered her education at Guardian Angels Catholic High School in Chaska, where she graduated in 1965. For three years after high school, she worked for the Jordan Bank.

Life for Linda was being a devoted wife, mother, grandma and a faithful servant of the Lord. She met a young man named Robert Krueger as she worked serving tables at a wedding. Linda and he declared their love for each other on December 27, 1968, at Immanuel Lutheran of Fish Lake. She soon assumed the role of pastor’s wife. After internship in Junction City, KS, and completing seminary training in Springfield, IL, Robert was ordained at Immanuel Lutheran of Fish Lake in 1971. Bob’s ministry took them to Kakabeka Falls, Ontario and Fairhaven/Kimball, MN before settling their roots in St. Paul for 30 years. Along the way, Linda and Bob were blessed with three sons, Rob, Scott and Jon and later grandparents to eight grandchildren.

As the boys grew, the family enjoyed camping and exploring throughout the United States and the great destinations of Minnesota. Linda and Bob had the opportunity to travel abroad to Columbia, Greece, Israel, Germany, and Hawaii and within the states. In 2010, they moved back to their roots in Jordan and spent the last several winters on the Gulf Coast. Linda relished being a grandma and cherished spending time with each one of them.

Linda had a gift as a seamstress. For many years, she was the seamstress for Anderson Cleaners in St. Paul. Her love of sewing enabled Linda to craft banners for church, all of her husband’s liturgical stoles, and Rob’s academic robe, hood, and hat. She loved to tend to the plants in her flower and vegetable gardens, with countless hours canning the fruits of her labors. Linda enjoyed making homemade cards for every occasion and in more recent years, expanded her talent creating priceless scrapbooks for her grandchildren.

The outstanding qualities Linda exhibited were patience, gentleness, and love, which are now left to be carried on by her family. The love she shared with everyone she met and the faith she instilled in her family will never be forgotten. Linda prepared special Sunday dinners for her family. They will miss her roast beef and mashed potatoes and especially those exceptional birthday cupcakes.

Left to honor Linda’s life, mourn her death, and celebrate the promise of eternal life are her husband, Rev. Robert H. Krueger; sons, Dr. Rob (Rachel) Krueger and their children, Jack, Anna and Abby, Scott (Danielle) Krueger and their children, Jazmine, Joseph and Davina, Jon (Michelle) Krueger and their children, Cameron and Hudson; siblings, Nancy (Tom) Nagel, Mary (Tom) Haugh, Angie (Greg) Dressen, Ellen (Dewey) Brinkman, Rita (Charles) Stans, Ed (Mary) Pieper, Joyce Friedges, Dan (Ann) Pieper, Tom (Bobbi Jo) Pieper; many nieces and nephews; other loving relatives and friends.

Preceded in death and there to welcome Linda home are her parents, Joe and Marcie and infant sister, Rosalie Pieper.
