Lloyd Clemons, 88, of Shakopee, passed away on March 16, 2023. A Time of Gathering will be held at Ballard Sunder Funeral Home in Shakopee (833 Marschall Ave) on Saturday, April 8, from 10-11am. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11am. Lloyd will be laid to rest at Glen Haven Cemetery in Crystal (5125 W Broadway Ave) following the services.
On April 6, 1934, Lloyd was born to his parents, Nobel and Elizabeth Clemons in Fairmont. Fairmont was where he and his 7 siblings were raised. After school, Lloyd could be found having sword fights with his siblings or helping out the local farmers.
When Lloyd turned 18, he joined the military to serve his country. He enlisted into the Navy and did his basic training in San Diego. Eventually, he went overseas to Korea and China to serve his country where he earned the title “Shell Back”.
Once he was done with his service, he returned home to Minnesota. He picked up right where he left off, helping out the local farmers. During this time, he met his wife, Marjorie. The pair were married on June 1, 1956, and started their life together. The couple had 3 wonderful children together before her passing in 1999. The entire family loved to spend time outdoors. Camping and boating trips were plentiful during the summer months. Even if they almost lost the boat on their fishing trip to Canada.
For work, Lloyd started out as a welder for Minneapolis Moline before becoming a bus driver for Metro Transit. However, most of his working life was spent as an electrician. He became an electrician in 1987 and worked his way up to a Journeyman. He started not one, but two electrical businesses.
In 2004, Lloyd was united in marriage to Joyce. Their 2 families became one and enjoyed playing card games, playing spinner, and traveling. They took many trips all over the country from California to Disney World.
Lloyd is survived by his children; Dean (Pam) Clemons, Kim (Tim) Winsor, Robert (Julie) Rooker, Michael (Donna) Rooker, Angie (Deb Tix) Rooker, Kelly (Mark) Spagl; grandchildren, Vincent, Andrew (Bridgette), Justin, Michelle (Andrew), Krista (Mark), Alyssa, Brianna (Rebecca), Alex, Morgana, Timothy, Audrey, Doug, Emily, Maxwell, Asar, Aliyah, Terrin (Brian), David, Brian, Brianna, Jason, Jordan, Roberta (Holly), Hannah, Natasha; great grandchildren: Joshua, Wyatt, Emma, Rosalie, Damian, Jonah, Jaxon, Owyn; and many other loving relatives and friends
Lloyd is preceded in death by the two Loves of his Life, Marjorie and Joyce; children: Linda (Dexter) Bingham; his siblings, and other loving family and friends.
