Lois Marie Gilbert, age 79, passed away on April 10, 2024 at The Waters of Excelsior.
Lois was born in South Dakota, grew up in Minnesota, spent most of her adult life on the west coast, where she raised her children, then the east coast before moving back “home,” Minnesota. She was a wonderful seamstress and supplied the family with many handmade Christmas decorations. She passed away peacefully in her sleep after suffering with Lewy Body Dementia the last years of her life.
Lois is survived by her children, Todd Peterson and Lucy (Chris Bauemeister) Peterson; grandchild, Rachael; siblings, Gerald (Shelley) Dylla, James (Marie) Dylla, Robert Dylla, Kathryn (Ross) Lussenhop, and Daniel (Robin) Dylla; and other loving family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Gilbert; parents, Phillip and Elma Dylla; and sister-in-law, Kathleen Dylla.
The family would like to thank the Speciality Care staff and general staff of The Waters of Excelsior for the excellent care given to Lois during her stay there. Their compassion and dedication was evident every day.
