She will be laid to rest at St Michael Cemetery.

On January 22, 1936, on a farm in Webster, MN, Loretta was born to parents, William and Loretta (Ryan) Stanton. The oldest of 13 children, she grew up knowing the true meaning of hard work, being one as family and having a strong faith. Loretta attended St. Dominic’s Catholic School, with graduating from Northfield High School in 1953. She then worked several years as a secretary for the Minnesota Breeders Association in New Prague, MN

The best chapter in Loretta’s life was being a wife and mother. While attending a dance in New Prague, she was introduced to a young handsome man, Val Zweber. Since, he was in the service, they exchanged letters overseas and over time their love flourished. On May 12, 1956, at Annunciation Church in Hazelwood, MN, Loretta and Val were united in Holy Matrimony. They were given 8 precious gifts from God, Pauline, Bill, Gary, Matt, Sue, Val, Lorie and Katie.

It was a family affair on the farm. Loretta and Val instilled in their own children the same values she was taught. Each day was filled with hard work, tending to the gardens, animals and keeping up with active children. Loretta loved to entertain and relished birthday gatherings. Sunday’s meant being surrounded by laughter, food and great conversation from family. Her family also extended caring for babies and young children, as a Daycare Provider, for over 31 years. Babies and children always held a special place in her heart. To Loretta, these were the best days!

Loretta also found joy in cheering on the Minnesota Twins, reading the daily paper, especially the sports section, playing Euchre and take a chance at lady luck. She and Val have always been active and supportive members of St. Michael Catholic Church and School.

Proud of her Irish heritage, Loretta had a gift to remember dates, events, numbers and statistics. She was everyone’s ‘World Book of Knowledge.’ Loretta had this amazing quality in being a good listener, humble kindhearted, and one to always follow the rules. The most valued chapter in Loretta’s life was of her faith. She deeply loved her family, but it was her strong faith, that enable her the day to day support and guidance to keep moving forward in life. God provided her with a special gift of faith, which she was able to share with many far and wide.
