Lorrie Marie DuBois (Fonnier), a lifelong resident of Shakopee, MN, passed away peacefully on Sunday, 24 December 2023, at St. Benedictine with her family.
She will be laid to rest at Shakopee Catholic Cemetery, 830 10th Ave W, Shakopee, MN, on Friday, April 19, 2024 at 11:00 AM.
Lorrie Marie DuBois was born on May 22, 1943, in Shakopee, MN, to Edward and Lo Raine (Tieben) Fonnier. She was the second of four girls, Judy, Gwen, Gaynor and brother Eddie. Lorrie attended St. Mark’s Catholic School through the eighth grade. After graduating from Shakopee High School, she attended beauty school in Minneapolis traveling from home to school and back with her father Edward.
Lorrie married Albert Arthur DuBois “Tubby” on September 14th, 1960, in Mason City, Iowa, with their parents at Lorrie and Al’s side. Soon after, they welcomed their first son, Mitchell, and then followed by Rhona and Tony.
The DuBois family remained in the Shakopee area. First living in town, they eventually moved their family out to the country where she opened “Country Girl Beauty Shop”. They also raised goats and birds, quail, geese, and ducks and enjoyed time vacationing at their cabin in Longville, MN, on Hanging Kettle Lake and later in Aikin, MN, on Diamond Lake.
Lorrie enjoyed spending time with her mother, siblings and family at sewing club, holiday parties, coffee clutches and antiquing. Many an hour was spent refinishing old furniture and decorating with the family.
Forever loved, Lorrie will be forever missed by her children, Mitchell (Lonette) DuBois, Rhona (Clark) Cronquist, Tony (Amy) DuBois; grandchildren, Aaron DuBois & Caitlin Duff, Bryan (Kylee) DuBois, Cameron DuBois, Carson Cronquist, Jacob DuBois, Allie DuBois; great grandson, Colton Laugen; Sisters, Judy (Jim) Case, Gwen (Dick) Raduenz, Gaynor Aslakson & Russ Case, Brother, Eddie (Wendy) Fonnier; other relatives and friends.
Lorrie is welcomed home in Heaven by her parents, Edward and Lo Raine Fonnier; husband Albert “Tubby”; and granddaughter, Rebecca DuBois.
