She was born on October 16, 1932, in Lemery Iloilo Philippines, to her parents Flocerfida Abolonio and Florencio Galino. Luz graduated from the Republic of the Philippines Department of Education, Bureau of Public Schools, division of Iloilo City Philippines on April 20, 1951.

She married the love of her life Clemente C. Dayrit, with whom she shared many joyful moments. Sadly, Clemente passed away on June 5, 2012 at the age of 84.

Luz talents were many. She was an extremely accomplished seamstress. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, a community and Church Volunteer, a member of a longtime Filipino Bible Church and The Filipino American association of Anchorage Alaska for 18 years. She is a former Mrs. Alaska and enjoyed sewing, cooking, dancing, singing karaoke, camping, and fishing. She can cook for the whole neighborhood. She’s a stylist, glamorous, and loved dressing up fancy. She loved to travel and was an adventurous person not afraid of trying new things. A compassionate spirit who loves to care for others and was loved by so many and touched by so many lives. She raised half of her grandkids.

Survivors include her three daughters, Josefina (Victor) David of Clovis, New Mexico, Daisy (Bradley) Kenney of Jordan, Minnesota, Jeana (Richard) Miller of Warner Robins, Georgia; two sons, Enrique (Janet) Dayrit of Belle Plaine MN, and Edsel (Leticia) Dayrit of Chaska MN; two sisters, Teresita Caballero and Cresilda Alfaro; 17 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Flocerfida and Florencio Galino; daughter, Myrna Dayrit Cuizon; and brother, Henry Galino, of the Philippines.

The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful help and care given by Hospice and The Oak Terrace Facility of Jordan MN.

Our Beloved MOM
A wife, a mother, and a grandma too.
This is the legacy we have from you,
You taught us love and how to fight,
You gave us strength, you gave us might.
A stronger person would be hard to find,
And in your heart you were kind.
You fought for us all in one way or another,
Not just as a wife not just as a mother.
For all of us you gave your best,
And now the time has come for you to rest.
So, go in peace, you’ve earned your sleep,
Your love in our hearts we’ll eternally keep.

Kuluguran Daka, Apu. Salamat kareng sikap at sakripisyu mu para kekami ngan.
