Lynn Amparo

Lynn Amparo, age 38, of Shakopee, MN, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2022, at Methodist Hospital.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 8, at 12 (noon), with a time of gathering starting at 10 am, at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation, 833 South Marschall Road, Shakopee. Lynn loved being comfy, so her family is welcoming guests to dress casually or in her favorite attire…sweatpants and jammy pants!

Lynn Ann was born on May 18, 1984, to Daniel Joseph and Becky Ann (Lindquist) Decker. Her birth was special- Lynn was the second baby to be born at Fairview Ridges Hospital, in Burnsville, MN. She grew up in Shakopee, MN, along with her siblings, Danny, and Krissy. As a young girl, Lynn had many passions. She loved trading Pogs (a milk cap game), playing with Cabbage Patch dolls, playing with her neighborhood friends, and listening to music. Lynn loved spending beautiful summer days at the family cabin. Here, she enjoyed the turtle races in Longville, MN, watching the Fourth of July fireworks, and stopping by Frosty’s Ice Cream Parlor for a treat. She also loved to spend many special weekends at her grandma’s house where she slept on “clouds” (piles of snuggly blankets that Grandma made into beds for all of the kids). Some of Lynn’s favorite childhood memories were weekly Sunday dinners at Mema’s house where all of her aunts, uncles, and cousins would gather and spend the entire day laughing at each other’s crazy antics and listening to her uncles and brother play live music in the basement.

Lynn had such a bubbly personality. She loved being surrounded by friends, neighbors, and family. Lynn’s selfless, resilient, and soft-hearted attributes really came to light when she became a wife and mother. She married Raul Alejandro Amparo on September 3, 2004, in Shakopee, MN. They have three beautiful daughters, Haylee, Bella, and Violet. These three girls were her world and Lynn relished being involved in their lives. It didn’t matter the activity; she just cherished every second they spent together.

Lynn loved decorating for ALL holidays, but Christmas and Halloween were her absolute favorites! She made sure their home was always festive and she couldn’t wait to be surrounded by her family at each holiday gathering. She would unapologetically break out into her favorite dance moves or sing her own made-up lyrics to popular songs (her lyrics were always comedy GOLD!!). She had the best sense of humor, and it made her heart happy to see and hear other people laugh.

Lynn’s love was fierce and loyal! She always had your back, especially towards her family. If any one of her people were hurting, Lynn immediately went into “Lioness mode” to protect their hearts and make sure they felt loved and supported. If you had her on your side, you were never alone. Lynn was knowledgeable about the world and would take anyone under her wing.

Forever loved, Lynn will always be in the hearts of those who love her the most: husband, Raul; daughters, Haylee, Bella, Violet; father, Dan (Nancy) Decker; sister, Krissy (Jake) Luce; nephews, Andy, Justin and Ryan Luce; Ruben and Anthony Sifuentes-Amparo, niece, Kayla Sifuentes-Amparo, parents-in-law, Carlos Hidalgo and Maria Sandoval; and many other relatives and friends.

Greeting Lynn home in Heaven is her mother, Becky Decker; brother, Danny Decker; grandparents, Virgil and Agnes Decker, Roger and Myrle Lindquist.
