Lynnette (Luce) Olson

On the peaceful evening of Monday, December 29, 2014, Lynnette Olson, age 47, passed away gracefully, with her beloved family surrounding her bedside at her family’s home.

Lynnette’s passion of life will be celebrated on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 12 pm (noon), with visitation two hours prior, all at Ballard-Sunder Funeral and Cremation 833 South Marschall Road, Shakopee. Jean Breeggemann will lead the service. Lynnette will be laid to rest at the St. Mary of the Purification Catholic Church cemetery in Marystown in the spring. Lynnette asked that everyone wear bright colors in her honor.

Neil Herbert and Benilee Leslie (Barr) Luce, unexpectedly received a precious Valentine’s gift on February 14, 1967. It was the birth of the first of their four children, Bonnie Lynnette, born at St. Francis Hospital in Shakopee, MN. Born an active and healthy premature baby, she instantly became daddy’s little girl. Raised in rural Jordan, Lynnette became quite fond of the outdoors. She and two sisters, Jennifer and Elizabeth and brother Neil, spent countless hours exploring and playing in and around the home and the back woods. She attended St. John the Baptist Catholic School through the third grade, and later became involved and blossomed in the public school choir, band and track. Lynnette was a graduate of the Jordan High School Class of 1985.

Working various jobs throughout her life, Lynnette earned a degree from the Minnesota School of Business. She took this degree of an administrative assistant, and worked as a marketing director for the Shenandoah Apartments in Shakopee and planning events and rooms for Mystic Lake Casino. Lynnette loved the social aspect of being around and interacting with people.

Life for Lynnette was a lot about being a daughter and sister, with her greatest joys being that of a mom and grandma. She was truly blessed with five beautiful children, Bryce, Brande, Sarah, Sophia and Sylvia and two grandchildren, Brady Lee and Rilynn Rae. Lynnette relished the times spent curled up on the couch snuggling with her girls, watching movies and eating pizza together as a family. She loved fast cars, crocheting, cross stitching, animals and fairy gardens. Lynnette especially loved shopping, with her eyes always set on finding a new pair of shoes, and being the first to inscribe a message on a fresh jar of peanut butter. A forever love of the outdoors, Lynnette was most happy gardening, with a special love of iris’ and roses, fishing, snowmobiling and enjoying the warm breezes of the winds on the beach.

Lynnette was a woman with an eye for detail and had a special artistic ability. She loved bright and bold colors and had an infectious and contagious laugh. She now passes on to her children her strong will, sweetness, caring and kind personality, and a love of travel. Lynnette had an independent and sassy spirit, was a loyal friend to many and had a selfless character that would do anything for anyone, at any time.

Lynnette was a brave and strong warrior. About two years ago, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Lynnette fought hard, yet had realistic expectations. Left to honor Lynnette’s life and mourn her death are her children, Bryce (Kaitlin) Bjerke, Brande Bjerke, Sarah Olson, Sophia Olson, Sylvia Olson; grandchildren, Brady Lee and Rilynn Rae Bjerke; parents, Neil and Benilee Luce; siblings, Jennifer (Mark) Carbert, Elizabeth (Scott) Simon, and Neil Luce; nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and devoted friends.

Preceded in death and there to welcome Lynnette home is her bosom buddy and beloved cousin, Dane William Rasmussen.
