Pallbearers for Marie will be Todd Trump, Tom Trump, Dillion Euriga, Tim Skaar, Brian Kerkow, Mike Pulkrabek. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband at Meadow Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery in Faribault.

One February 20, 1931 Carl and Theresa (Oltman) Trump celebrated the birth of their only daughter, Marie Theresa Trump. She was the second of four children, and loved growing up in the Northfield and Faribault area with her three brothers, Herman, Ernie and Robert. She was baptized on May 22, 1931 and Confirmed on October 30, 1944 at Grace Lutheran Church. As a girl, Marie was especially close to her older brother Herman. Together they enjoyed making prank phone calls to neighbors and friends. Marie also sang in the choir, and had a lifelong love for music which she eventually passed on to her own family. Marie graduated from Faribault High School in 1949.

As a teenager, Marie met a handsome young man named Harlen Wente. Marie was standing in a field, and her big white hat caught his eye. Marie quickly stole Harlen’s heart, and the two exchanged wedding vows on September 20, 1949. When they were first married, they lived in a Silver Bullet trailer right at Harlen’s work site. But they eventually settled in Jordan where they raised two wonderful daughters, Marjorie and Linda.

When the girls were young, Marie spent a couple years working as a school cook. She later began her own business as a housekeeper. She had many wonderful clients over her 20+ years in the business. When Harlen finally retired, he’d go along with Marie to help clean windows.

Marie’s life revolved around her family and friends. She loved spending time with Harlen, her girls and all of their extended family. They especially enjoyed fishing, swimming and camping. They had part ownership of a cabin on French Lake, and they loved to spend time there with family. Marie and Harlen loved traveling, and they took many memorable trips throughout the years. They visited California, Florida and Texas. They also spent winters in Apache Junction, Arizona with Marie’s brother Herman. When they weren’t taking trips across the country, they enjoyed heading north for fishing trips to Sissebagamah and Sauke Lake. Wherever they went, they made many wonderful friends.

Throughout her adult life, Marie like crafting, sewing and crocheting. She had beautiful flower gardens and was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Jordan. When Marie’s health began to fade, she moved to the Belle Plaine Lutheran Home where she received wonderful care.

Marie was completely unselfish. She always did things for others, and instilled the value of service in her own family. Marie was quiet, but forceful. She had so many good, giving qualities. She was always available to anyone who needed a friend, and she was truly a trusted confidant.

Marie will be deeply missed and remembered always by her daughter, Marjorie (Dean) Hartwig; grandchildren, Angela (Richard) Harshberger, Andrew (Jenny Searles) Euriga, Mark (Joy) Zuehl; great-grandchildren, Theresa (Anthony), Matt, Dillion (McKenzie), Kendra (Andrew), Richard, Rebecca (Chris); great-great-grandchildren, Kale, Kaylee, Aislyn, Kyler and Payton; sister-in-law, Audrey Trump; other loving relatives and many dear friends. There to greet Marie in Heaven is her husband, Harlen Wente; daughter, Linda Wente; granddaughter, Toni Wente Zuehl; parents, Carl and Theresa Trump; brothers, Herman Trump, Ernie Trump and Robert Trump; sisters-in-law, Eileen Trump and Jean Trump.

The Wente family is served with honor, care and compassion by Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation.
