A Celebration of Life Reception and luncheon will follow from 1:00 – 4:00 PM at The Savage Tap (12925 Eagle Creek Pkwy) in Savage. Please join his family to share stories and bring laughter into the world like Mark always did for us.

Mark Weatherman was born on March 20, 1981 in St. Paul, MN. He was the youngest of two boys born to Denny and Marilyn (Berry) Weatherman. Mark spent his early years in Cottage Grove until his parents divorced, and he moved to Plymouth with his mom and brother, Chad. As a boy, Mark enjoyed spending time cruising the neighborhood with Dusty and Jake. They spent lots of time riding bikes, playing tennis and getting into whatever trouble they could find. Time spent at the family cabin on Upper Turtle Lake provided Mark with abundant joy and deep-rooted relationships and a reprieve from the world. The lake community became family and are important people in his life.

From a young age, Mark played baseball and hockey. Hockey was his ultimate passion, and he continued to play into his adult life. He made lots of friends along the way. He especially loved the weekends away at tournaments with his dad and the other hockey families. In high school, Mark was quick to make friends and was voted on to the Homecoming Court by his peers. He graduated from Wayzata High School in 1999. Many of his adult relationships stem from his middle school and high school years playing sports. And once you were a friend of Mark’s, you were a friend for life. Everyone loved him and their families did too. He was invited on some very memorable vacations with his friends’ families.

Next, Mark attended UW Eau Claire where he studied Business Management. During his time at school, Mark met many wonderful people and took full advantage of the college experience. He was a friend to everyone, the life of the party and always the last man standing. Mark and his friends were known for throwing one of the most epic parties in his school’s history. After the local watering hole burned down, his friends “rescued” all the left-over alcohol from the bar, and they used that inventory to throw an amazing party that will never be forgotten by the attendees.

Although Mark had a lot of fun in college, he also made a lot of meaningful decisions for his life too. During freshman year, he met another student at a house party. Her name was Natalie Moe. The two hit it off and were friendly when they’d see each other around campus, but it wasn’t until the following year that they began dating. Their relationship made it through all the ups and downs of college. Mark and Natalie graduated in December of 2003 and started their lives together. They bought their home in Shakopee in 2005 and were married in Eau Claire on July 15, 2006.

As newlyweds, Mark and Natalie enjoyed attending local sporting events and traveling. He even joined Natalie in Germany one summer while she was teaching abroad. During this time, Mark also grew his career at Ecolab. He started as a Sales Rep and eventually became Asst. Vice President of Corporate Accounts. Mark always worked hard to provide a good life for his family.

In 2011, the Weatherman family grew with the addition of Claire and again a few years later when Evelyn arrived. Right from the start, Mark was so gentle with them and willing to do anything. He loved his girls with his whole heart and was so proud of everything they did. Mark especially loved that his girls got to have some of the same memories that he had growing up during their visits to the family cabin on Upper Turtle Lake. He took them tubing, taught them to water ski, and enjoyed lots of family time together on the water. His greatest joy in life was loving his girls.

In his free time, Mark enjoyed playing hockey, spending time with friends, hunting and fishing. These activities bonded Mark and his brother, Chad. Together they were a force to be reckoned with, always having a joke, dare, or smart comment to share with each other or their friends. Mark could quote almost any movie and was a huge sports fan. He was kind, generous and had a great sense of humor. He had a gift for making everyone feel valued, would talk to anyone, and quickly became their friend. Mark had a captivating smile and could light up any room. He was truly a beautiful soul and will live on in our hearts forever.

Mark is survived by his wife, Natalie Weatherman; daughters, Claire & Evelyn Weatherman; mother, Marilyn (Doug Fredin) Weatherman; brother, Chad (Lacey) Weatherman and their children, Cameron and Cierra Weatherman; father and mother-in-law, Donn & Jan Moe; brother-in-law, Nathaniel (Rochelle Vaughn) Moe and his children, Finnegan & Adler Moe; sister-in-law, Nicole (Tyler Price) Moe; other loving relatives and many dear friends. Mark was greeted in Heaven by his dad and step-mom, Denny & Darlene Weatherman.
