A resident of Jordan, a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Jordan, MN and Bethel Lutheran Church Greendush, MN, Mary Lou Docken, age 92, passed away peacefully, Tuesday afternoon, June 3, 2014, at Ridgeview Medical Center, Waconia, Minnesota. The Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, June 14, 2014, 11:00am, at Hope Lutheran Church, Jordan, MN with Visitation one hour prior to the service at Church. The Reverend Steven Thompson will preside. Mary Lou will be laid to rest next to her husband Arthur Docken on her Birthday July 5, 2014 in Bethel Lutheran Cemetery, Greenbush, MN.
Mary Louella Docken was born July 5, 1921, in Roosevelt, MN. Her parents were Walter and Amy (Winter) Wallin. She grew up in a family of 11 children.
Married October 19, 1940 to Arthur Docken of Greenbush, MN where they resided on a farm for many years, raising their children Richard, Evelyn, Floyd, Amy, Donald, Jeannette, Sandra and Catherine, until she moved to Jordan, MN in 2001. Arthur passed away December 6, 1985.
Deeply missed and remembered always by those who loved Mary Lou, sons, Richard (JoAnn) Docken of Norwood, Floyd (Shirley) Docken of Stillwater and Donald (Kathleen) Docken of Hastings; daughters, Jeannette Miller of St. Paul, Sandra (Kevin) Louis of Chaska, and Catherine (David) Smisek of New Prague; 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Bertie Lee Williams, Dolores Moyer and Nellie Hutchinson; sister-in-law, Barbara Wallin; brother, James (Nancy) Wallin; many nieces and nephews.
Mary Lou is preceded in death by her husband Arthur of 45 years, daughters, Evelyn (Ronald) Christianson and Amy (Gene) Vatnsdal; grandson, Gregory Docken; two infant granddaughters; one infant great-granddaughter; brothers, Basil, Roland, William, Robert and Rodney Wallin; sister, Jeanne (Donald) Kingsborough; parents and grandparents.
