On Tuesday, July 18, 2017, Maureen Zita (Maiers) Rubischko, age 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by children and family. She was a resident of Prior Lake, MN.
A time of gathering will be held on Friday, July 21 from 4-7 pm, with a Time of Sharing and Reflection at 7 pm, at Ballard-Sunder Funeral and Cremation 4565 Pleasant Street SE, Prior Lake and one hour prior to the Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, July 22, at 11 am, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church 4625 West 125th Street, Savage, MN. Father Tom Walker and Father Don DeGrood will preside, with Maureen’s grandchildren acting as pallbearers. A private family burial will be held at St. Boniface Cemetery, Stewart, MN. Memorials are preferred and will be distributed in Maureen’s memory by the family.
Maureen was born on January 29, 1940, on the family farm in Stewart, MN, to parents Henry and Grace (McGraw) Maiers. She was the 16th of 17 children, who loved her parents deeply for being able to provide a wonderful life for the entire family. Maureen attended grade school at St. Boniface School in Stewart and graduated from Good Council in Mankato, MN. She worked for 17 years as a personalized insurance agent and then many years as a medical laboratory office manager in Plymouth, MN.
Maureen was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, who treasured family above all else. Left to honor her life are children, Dan Rubischko, Michelle Dellwo, Mark Rubischko and John (Tiffany) Rubischko; grandchildren, Kelsey Dellwo, Grant Rubischko, Garth Rubischko, Peyton Rubischko, Jenna Rubischko, Colby Rubischko, Jaden Walz; great-granddaughter, Layla Weldon-Dellwo ; siblings, Virginia Weis, Therese Kuttner, Sister Gen Maiers OSB, Allan (Phyllis) Maiers, Father Brennan Maiers OSB, Sister Gracemarie Maiers OSB; sisters-in-laws, Jeannine Maiers, Judy Maiers; other loving relatives and devoted friends
Preceded in death and there to welcome Maureen home is her grandson, Parker Rubischko; parents; siblings, Sister Mary Jean Maiers OSB, Daniel Maiers, Paul (Margaret) Maiers, Joe (Rita and Sally) Maiers, Jack (Dotty) Maiers, Loy (Lucille) Maiers, Stan Maiers, Ray (Dolly) Maiers, Brenda Maiers, Pat Maiers; brothers-in-laws, Jim Weis and George Kuttner.
